JOB OPPORTUNITY: GB Squash Head Coach (Part-Time)

Squash is heading to the Olympic Games for the first time at LA28, and GB Squash is looking for a Head Coach to lead Great Britain's first ever Olympic squash campaign.

This part-time, fixed-term role runs through to LA 2028. You'll:
✅ Support athletes through the Olympic qualification cycle
✅ Work closely with athletes' personal coaches and the Home Nations
✅ Lead coaching at the 2027 European Games and LA 2028 Olympics
✅ Help shape how GB coaches at Games time

We're looking for someone with significant high-performance coaching experience, a strong understanding of professional squash and a collaborative approach.

Closing date: 12 noon, Monday 28 September
Interviews: Friday 2 October

Nine players took to the courts at Rhiwbina Squash Club on Saturday 12th September for another brilliant day of wheelchair squash, with competitors travelling from France and Canada to join players from Wales and across the UK.

After a morning of practice and coaching, the group was split into two round robin groups before the positional matches and the final, where Richard Plenty came out on top against Steve McGrath. Guido Grassi took third.

What a Summer of Squash!
Our Summer Squash Camps have come to an end for 2026 – and what a summer it has been!

Across 7 camps in Cardiff and Swansea, we recorded an incredible 126 attendances, with an average of 18 young players per camp.

We've welcomed lots of children who were new to squash, watched complete beginners playing matches by the end of their first day, and seen children grow in confidence, make new friends and develop their skills.

Even better, 8 children have already been invited to progress into the Squash Wales Academy following their performances at this summer's camps.

We also introduced our first Summer Camp in Swansea, giving us a really encouraging foundation to continue growing the programme outside Cardiff.

A huge thank you to all our coaches, parents and, most importantly, every young player who joined us this summer.

We'll see you again during October half term!

What a weekend of squash!

The Welsh Junior Open welcomed a record international entry, with young players travelling from across the world to compete across two venues at Rhiwbina Squash Club and Sport Wales National Centre.

Huge congratulations to every player who took to the court, and a special well done to our Welsh players who reached the podium across the age groups.

Thank you to Karakal, Lasers R Us and the National Lottery for their support, and to all the parents and families who kept everything running between the two clubs.
