This weekend started the new competition season. Comp scene been quiet this year so far compared to last so medal table is light on medals. Quite a few comps coming up for our older competitors and we’ll keep an eye for suitable ones for our younger fighters.

Day-2 𝗕𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 🇬🇧
Today it was the turn of the girls to bring home the Golds 👊
🥇 Maidie U18 -59kg
🥇 Ellie, Senior -55kg

🥈 Senior Male Team (Alex Logan Callum)
🥉 Alex U21 -84kg
🥉 Nathan, Senior -75kg
🥉 Logan U21 -75kg
🥉 Ellie U21 -55kg

An exciting end to the day in the men’s team final against CEK 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Alex was first up and secured the first bout for WKKU. CEK won the second bout. In the final bout Callum narrowly lost 7-6 after leading for most of the bout. Almost pulled off a huge win.

A fantastic effort from everyone involved and another valuable weekend of competition.

An all-WKKU final in the Super Vets category between Jason and Ian 🌟The result saw Jason retain his title from last year, while Ian picked up a commendable silver medal. Well done guys 🥳

These were our only competitors today. Tomorrow it's the turn of our u18, u21 & seniors. Good luck for Day-2 👊

As well as new starters, this grading is for those who passed red stripe yesterday or at the 5th May grading

🟥 🟨 Reds working toward Yellow will grade at either the Junior grading Sat Sept 19th or the next Bi-monthly white belt grading in November

Whether you grade depends on standard and regular training through the Summer. Your instructors will decide whether you grade.

A productive Match Practice Session yesterday for our Senior Men’s squad: 9 fighters, 8 fights each, full-size tatami, Welsh officials, table officials, and supportive spectators. Everyone getting to test their training in a competition-style environment.

Also pleased to welcome new scorers preparing to join our experienced table officials at the Dragon Cup
