City Hospice - ION FAN CHALLENGE
For all those that have signed up on the whiteboard at the gym, could you also please register via this link in our instagram story (you’ll also have a email with the link): https://www.cityhospice.org.uk/get-involved/upcoming-events/iron-fan-challenge-2026/ - it’s £10 to register and you’ll also receive a t-shirt. We need to confirm numbers, so it would be really appreciated if you could find time today to do so.
I massively appreciate the support with this, as it hopefully will be a good, fun challenge to do altogether.
It says on the link that you’ll be required to raise money, but we’ll be doing this in house as a collective, so you don’t need to worry about that element. We’ll be running a fundraising event at the gym on Saturday June 20th doing the CrossFit Hero Workout ‘CHAD’ - 1,000 Box Step Ups for time. A good bit of prep for the following weekend.
For those unaware, we’re supporting the fantastic work carried out by City Hospice every single day by partnering with them for the Iron Fan Challenge.
On Sunday 28th June, we’ll be trekking up Pen y Fan FOUR TIMES. A good test of physical and mental fitness, but more importantly, a chance to bring people together to support an amazing local charity.
This is a challenge, a cause, and a chance to do something impactful for a charity that is local to us and provides specialist care and support for people living with life limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Any questions, please feel free to ask, friends, family and work colleagues are more than welcome to join us!

What a turnout for our Half Term Youth Girls Strength Session this afternoon 💪
18 girls aged 11–16 joined us for an afternoon of strength training led by our female coaching team, focused on building confidence, learning new skills and showing that strength training can be fun, supportive and empowering.
So good to see so much energy, encouragement and confidence in the room and plenty of smiles along the way too!
Creating spaces where young girls feel confident, capable and supported in training is something we’re really passionate about. We loved having you all with us

Incoming ION 2.0 👀
A little visual of what’s to come, with a few facility upgrades over the coming months, a key addition being installed in the next week or so… our new 11m x 4 lane turf.
Why?
At ION one of our key objectives is to keep evolving, innovating and improving the quality of our programming and coaching environment. The turf allows us to bring a new dimension to our classes through sled work and movement based conditioning. Importantly, this isn’t just for HYROX.
ION60 - a strong addition and variation with horizontal unilateral work, trunk strength, upper back accessory work within busy classes.
ION45 & ION30 - more variety, more flow, more conditioning options and additional stations within sessions.
ION Legends & MumFit - low impact, joint friendly strength and conditioning options suitable for all abilities.
HYROX - needs no explanation 🔥
One thing to reassure members on… we’ll still use the turf to lift on during busy ION60 sessions, so we’re not reducing class capacity by adding it. The aim is to improve the training experience and versatility of the space, not take away from it. We want training to be FUN!
Excited for what’s ahead.
