Come and join Carlisle Sub Aqua Club the largest, and oldest, Sub-Aqua Club in North Cumbria. We dive all year round and we have an active social calendar.

We are affiliated to the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) and in 2024 we celebrated 60 years of diving. We welcome divers from other agencies and trainees from the age of 14 years. If you haven't dived before, come along and have a Try Dive in our pool.

This weekend, some of the club have headed south to Plymouth for 5 days diving while a handful headed north to St Catherines, Scotland. One of our favourite dive spots, and its easy to see why. The divers at St Catherines were treated to some amazing aquatic life this weekend such as Bob tail squids, catsharks, langoustines, spiny squat lobsters, blenny and goby galore.

We're thrilled to have secured funding from 's 'Play It Forward' campaign! Following a successful application by our Branch Diving Officer, this grant will allow us to buy equipment for 14-24 year olds to borrow, expanding our youth training provision. As a club, we’re passionate about supporting divers at every stage of their journey- offering everything from Sports Diver and Compressor Operator courses to Nitrox Blending and Instructor Training. This funding will give even more young members the opportunity to enjoy everything diving has to offer.

This Saturday our divers had a brilliant time diving at St Abbs. Some of our divers getting to explore it for the first time, while others appreciated a familiar site. From close encounters, to George the seal, to Mr Crabby, it was thoroughly enjoyed by all. 🦀🐠

A question we get asked a lot is, "what do you see diving in the UK?" - As UK divers its very difficult to answer that because we dont know where to begin... 🦀🐠

This week, the wind blew our divers on to the shores of the Isle of Arran for a spot of camping, and diving. On Friday we went out with .coast to some sites around Holy Island. On Saturday some of our divers ventured to Lamlash Bay for a shore dive while 2 of our divers went with our Branch Diving Officer to dive off his boat for the first time. Finally, on Sunday some of our divers went to Lochranza. Weve been treated to some spectacular sites this week such as Bob tail squids, a sea mouse, nudibranchs, conger eels and lots of crabs and starfish! 🦀🦑🤿
