Things I’m forever championing:

Let’s not wait for things to be perfect to show up for ourselves.
Showing up for ourselves isn’t something that happens when everything else is done.
We don’t have to keep going all the time.
Choosing something nourishing for ourselves isn’t selfish or something we should feel guilty for.

It’s not too late to join The Summer Sanctuary. It’s 14 days of mini practices that you can do anytime, anywhere. Suitable for all. And it’s just £25.

When I’m feeling overwhelmed and wrung out I remind myself of these things:

I’m not failing, or broken.
I’m just at my capacity.

And then I do some of these things that I know soothe my nervous system (sometimes with a bit of resistance, hi self sabotage):

I go outside and take the dog for a walk. The headspace reminds me that I don’t have to hold myself to ridiculously high standards.

When I’m feeling really up against it, I set a timer for 15/30 minutes and I do some gentle yoga. Shaking, rocking, moving with awareness. The short window feels less pressurising and then if I can, I continue for longer. But I know the small window is enough of a reset.

I do tapping. I notice what I’m holding and where I’m feeling this overwhelm. I sit with it, see where it really comes from. It moves my brain out of fight or flight so I can see more clearly. Do I need to ask for help? Say no somewhere?

I close down social media and WhatsApp. I remind myself that in this day and age we are accessible 24/7 and that can be totally overwhelming. I don’t need to reply to that message about the school fete right now. I create boundaries around things that send me into a spiral of comparison.

Before I go to bed, I mentally check in with the wins/joys of the day. I try not to make them all work-related, but also where I’ve had my own back, supported my children in a difficult moment etc.

I remind myself every day that my worth is not a result of my productivity. Sometimes I feel the frustration of this (hello Aries mani gen) but I remind myself of the power of small wins. Where I’ve chosen resting instead of doing more.

I pause before I say yes to something that adds to my plate. Check in with that inner people pleaser who can rear her head at any opportunity. Do I actually have space for this? If there is a doubt that I can, I say no.

I remind myself that this life is about joy and leaning into that whenever possible.

Just checking that you’re not waiting for that magical hour to arrive…

(And especially not in the summer holidays where time seems to evaporate in amongst all of the joy, juggle and the in between).

Here’s to celebrating - and enjoying - the power mini practices can have.

They’re a reminder that a little really does go a long way.

If I had a £1 for every minute I have wasted overthinking…

I would probably own a castle somewhere (if I even wanted one).

Overthinking and trying to make everything perfect has stopped me from doing so very many things.

It stopped me utilising those few minutes of time for me that were hugely valuable.

Thankfully, I realised (after a long time) that overthinking what I should do in that time, looking at what other people were doing and thinking they had more discipline and giving myself a constant bashing wasn’t helping the situation.

So I came back to what made me feel good. What worked. Knowing it didn’t need to be long, or perfect.

Starting this August, I’m running The Summer Sanctuary.

It’s 14 days of mini practices that are 15 minutes or less, for you to use in that window of time that crops up in your day.

You don’t need anything to start, just you. Press play and create the ritual of doing something regulating and nourishing for you, every day.

What’s more is it’s just £25. And they’re all yours to keep.

I used to wait for the perfect hour, or a quiet evening to do anything for myself.

Always holding out for this magical evening or morning where I wouldn’t be disturbed and I could have some time and headspace.

But the reality was that this never appeared. So I would end up feeling really frustrated and resentful that there never seemed to be any time.

In truth it probably meant I snapped a bit more too.

All the times I did this I skipped over how powerful a few minutes of practice can be.

How actually, even just 15 minutes for me, would actually be just what I needed.

This August, I’m running an online series where I ll be sharing small practices to help create some ritual in your everyday.

They’re valuable little practices to help you check in, connect with how you’re feeling and create some space for you.

A reminder that we don’t need to wait for the perfect moment.

The Summer Sanctuary runs for the first two weeks of August. All the practices are accessible, you don’t need to roll out a yoga mat or do anything. Just listen, practice and see where it takes you.

It’s just £25 to join us. Any questions at all, please drop me a DM. It will be lovely to have you.

When life gets very full and I feel stretched to my capacity, that’s the moment where it ramps up for me.

My inner critic. The one that says, I’m not doing it right, not doing enough, I have forgotten something else.

The more that gets added to my pile, the more it ramps up. And soon it’s telling me to stop doing the things I enjoy, the things that give me headspace, because I have too many other things to do.

It’s here where I remember that I can stop that negative inner chatter. I wouldn’t talk to someone else like that, so why am I talking to myself like that?

EFT tapping is a great way to cut through the noise. By combining gentle acupressure with awareness of what you’re experiencing, it helps you move out of stress and releases the emotional overwhelm.

Give this a try. If you would like a free practice, comment TAP and I ll send you one over.

Making time for yourself can sometimes feel impossible.

Life is a LOT. The to do list never gets shorter. And before we know it, we have skipped the things that make us feel good because we simply didn’t know when we could squeeze them in.

This is exactly why my online membership exists.

A space you can come back to on your terms. Whether you have got 10 minutes or an hour, need to move, lie down, tap through something that is holding you back.

Yoga, EFT tapping, meditation and restorative practices and more are all there, ready whenever you are.

Come check it out.

Im currently running an offer on both levels of the membership.

If you’d like the details, comment MEMBERSHIP below and I ll send you the details, or head to the link in my bio.
