After days of uncertainty…
after photographic evidence…
after repeated public appeals…
and after Ribblesdale Wanderers Cricket and Bowling Club chose to remain suspiciously quiet… 👀🤣

We can now confirm that the Simbo Trophy has been successfully acquired. 😂🏆

And the hero of the hour?

One of our junior members clearly decided enough was enough and launched his own little Mission Impossible operation. 🕵️‍♂️🤣

So… tiny confession.

We may have got a little carried away with cricket, events, bar queues, trophy hostage situations and everything else going on at the club…

…and completely forgot to keep posting the updates from our World Cup Draw. 🤦‍♀️😂

🏏💚💛 SENIOR WEEKLY ROUND-UP 💛💚🏏

A cracking weekend overall for Clitheroe, with three wins from four senior games and some brilliant individual performances along the way. 🙌

SATURDAY 15TH AUGUST
🏏 3RD XI v ENFIELD — WON BY 9 WICKETS

Enfield posted 240/4 from 40 overs, with the whole Clitheroe side deserving a mention for the effort it took to field all day on a pitch and ground that was described as being made from concrete 😂 — making it extremely difficult to contain the runs.

Then came a superb batting performance from the 3rds.

🔥 Soyeb Patel — 55
🔥 Sam Dugdale — 55 not out
🔥 Ollie Butterfield — 113 not out from just 83 balls

Clitheroe chased down the target in an incredible 28 overs, finishing on 243/1.

A huge congratulations as well to Charlie Sutherland on making his 3rd XI debut. 👏💚💛

🏏 4TH XI v LOWERHOUSE — WON BY 4 RUNS

A proper nail-biter for the 4ths! 😅

Clitheroe posted 123 all out, helped by a brilliant quick-fire 40 from just 23 balls by Dan Polles, giving the team something to defend.

What followed was a fantastic all-round effort in the field, with everyone contributing as Lowerhouse were bowled out for 119.

✅ CLITHEROE WON BY JUST 4 RUNS

A great team performance and one that definitely went right down to the wire! 👏🏏

SUNDAY 16TH AUGUST
🏏 1ST XI v ENFIELD — LOST BY 3 WICKETS

Clitheroe were bowled out for 198 from 49.4 overs before Enfield chased the target, finishing on 201/7 from 48.1 overs.

A close contest, but unfortunately Enfield got over the line with three wickets remaining.

🏏 2ND XI v ROCHDALE — WON BY 6 WICKETS

A brilliant Sunday for the 2nds. 🙌

Rochdale were bowled out for 111, with an outstanding bowling performance from:

🔥 Saud Ahmed — 5 wickets

Clitheroe then made short work of the chase, reaching 115/4 in just 18.3 overs to secure a comfortable 6-wicket victory.

And another big moment…

👏 Sam Dugdale recorded his first 50 for the 2nd XI!

After making 55 not out for the 3rds on Saturday as well, that’s not a bad weekend’s work at all, Sam! 😂🏏👏

So that’s three wins from four for our senior sides this weekend. 💚💛
