Good luck to Cumbernauld FGC club captain Sam McGoldrick who has been selected for the Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 team for the game against England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in this years development cup at Bridgend next weekend .
Sam has already 3 wins in the Braintrust Cup and last years development cup against the auld enemy England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in his international career and is having a brilliant season sitting 2nd in the amateurs behind his close friend Kyle McGreechin .

English Tour Championships Recap

A mixed but positive weekend for Cumbernauld FootGolf Club’s Donny and Sam at the English Tour Championships!

Donny got the weekend off to a flying start on Saturday with an excellent round of footgolf. A superb -4 score, backed up by some top-notch putting, earned him an impressive 4th place finish in a stacked Seniors field in the Category C event. 👏

Unfortunately, Sunday just wasn’t his day. Competing in the Category B event, things didn’t quite click, resulting in a lower finish and leaving him with a mixed overall Category A result for the weekend.

Sam’s weekend was the complete opposite! Saturday was one to forget after a shocker on the 16th… somehow managing to 5-putt a straightforward par 5! 🤣 That left him finishing around the middle of the pack in the Category C event and also affected his overall Category A placing.

Sunday, though, was a different story. 💪 Sam returned to the form he’s shown for most of the season, striking the ball brilliantly with plenty of straight laces and rolling in the putts with confidence. A card featuring eagles and some superb birdies saw him secure yet another top-15 finish in a strong field for the 2 round category B event.

A mixed weekend overall for both players, but plenty of positives to take into next week’s Scottish Open.

👏 Well done to Sam on a fantastic Sunday performance, and well played to both lads representing Cumbernauld FootGolf Club!
