Getting down to the floor and back up again might seem simple, but it can tell us a lot about strength, mobility, balance and coordination.

The sit-to-stand test has been used in research as a marker of physical function, with poorer performance linked to poorer long-term health outcomes.

The test shows more than the ability to get up off the floor. It indicates how easily you will continue to manage every day things as you get older from climbing stairs, to carrying shopping, playing with the kids or grandkids and staying independent.

So when we strength train now, we're staying capable for longer 💪🏻

The impact of training goes far beyond what happens in the gym.

From more energy to run about with the kids, to more confidence in life, to daily activities feeling easier.

And on top of that feeling stronger, happier and more capable than you ever thought.

Losing weight can be part of it, but for so many of our clients, the biggest changes are in how they feel and what they can do every day.

Training brings energy, strength, confidence. And for some, genuinely life changing 💛

The common theme: if you’re thinking about joining the gym… just do it.

You’ve got nothing to lose.

Don’t be afraid.

Be committed.

Don’t procrastinate and delay.

Why would you not.

Start today.

Our clients said it better than we ever could. If you’ve been thinking about getting started, take their advice and make that first step 💪🏻

Worried about accidentally getting too bulky when you start training?

We'd be more worried about accidentally ending up with osteoporosis through not training 🤷🏻‍♀️

Muscle loss isn’t something that suddenly starts when you’re old.

From around our 30s, muscle mass and strength can begin to gradually decline, and that can affect far more than how we look. It can influence balance, mobility, energy, confidence and how easily we manage everyday life as we get older.

The good news is that strength training can help slow that decline and keep us stronger and more capable for longer.

Just 2 strength sessions a week, along with adequate protein intake and proper recovery are enough to make a real difference 💪🏻

So what you do now is going to influence how you move, feel and live come 60s, 70s, 80s.

More than double the protein for less than the price of a sandwich. 🥩🥪

When you’re grabbing lunch on the go, it’s easy to think a subway or meal deal is a "good" choice but when you look at the numbers, the value just isn’t there.

PRIMAL (£6): 50g protein with with butcher-quality meat and organic veg. No refined carbs or seed oils.
Alternative (£6.49): Half the protein packed into refined bread with additives and preservatives. High in refined carbs that lead to a blood sugar spike and leave you hungry an hour later and reaching for snacks.

For less than the cost of a high-street meal deal, you could be fuelling your recovery with small-batch meals made from scratch.

One of the biggest misconceptions in the fitness industry!

Cardio is NOT essential to losing weight. It’s the most common thing we hear and where a lot of people tend to give up after putting in the work but not seeing the results they are expecting.

When you build muscle, your body has to work harder day-to-day to maintain it. This means even if you're sleeping, sitting, in the office - your body is still working.

Cardio might assist in cardiovascular and heart health but it won't protect your joints. Strength training increases bone mineral density by 1% to 3% and strengthens connective tissue, ensuring you stay mobile and injury-free as you age.

If you're sick of slamming the treadmill for hours then get in touch and see how we can help!
