KEEP UP THE CONVO WITH PLAY SAFE 2026!!

⚽ PLAY SAFE THIS WEEKEND – DERBYSHIRE GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL 🟢

The weekend is here, the boots are ready and our young players are looking forward to getting out on the pitch! 🙌

A little reminder to parents, carers, coaches, spectators and players — let’s make sure grassroots football is a positive, safe and enjoyable place for everyone.

👨‍👩‍👧 For parents & spectators
• Encourage rather than criticise
• Let the coaches coach and referees referee
• Respect players, opposition and officials
• Remember — it’s children’s football, not the Premier League!
• Be the positive example your child needs to see ❤️

🧑‍🏫 For coaches
• Put player welfare before results
• Keep communication positive and age-appropriate
• Check the pitch, equipment and weather conditions
• Know your club’s safeguarding procedures
• Create an environment where every child feels welcome and valued

🧒 For players
• Play fairly
• Respect the referee and opposition
• Look after your teammates
• Speak up if something doesn’t feel right
• Most importantly… enjoy your football! ⚽❤️

🌧️ And remember: if conditions aren’t safe, don’t be afraid to postpone, stop or adapt a session or fixture. No result is more important than a child’s wellbeing.

Let’s make this weekend about football, friendship, fun and keeping everyone safe.

💚 Play Safe. Respect Everyone. Enjoy the Game.

Keep Up the Convo with Play Safe

This weekend is the annual play safe weekend. Eyes on the ball and ears on the conversations 😊
