Rory boasts some brilliant stats for DTCC over his 2 years with the club:
2025 (2nd XI)
551 runs - 29.00 avg
58 wickets - 13.79 avg

2026 (1st XI)
595 runs - 31.32 avg
51 wickets - 20.08 avg

It has been a pleasure and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

WEEKEND ROUNDUP

3 games and 3 losses to finish off the 2026 YCSPL season.

The 1st XI were at Sprotbrough, and bowled first James Dobson (sponsored by Howarth Timber) was pick of the bowlers as he took 2-20, with Rory Daburger (sponsored by Hawsons) took 2-47 alongside Oliver Booth (sponsored by bubble Design) as he took 1-18; Sprotbrough finishing on 237/9. In the chase and with rain around their target was revised to 193 from 39.2 over but could only make 150/7 with Taylor Fell (sponsored by Delta plastering) making 63, Andrew Parkin-Coates (sponsored by Skillstep Training) scoring 38 and James Ward (sponsored by Hanicks Heating & Spares) scoring 17.

The 2nd XI hosted Barnsley Woolley Miners at The SCG needing 6 points to secure championship status for the 2027 season. Bowling first, they restricted the visitors to 163 thanks to Joe Woodiwiss' 4-61, Warren Graca's (sponsored by Andy Beekie Plumbing & Heating) 3-28 and Rob Grace (sponsored by Mulberry Accounting) taking 2-29. In the chase Town came up 36 short with a middle order collapse causing problems. Alfie Peirson (sponsored by Mulberry Accounting Services) scoring 36, Rob Grace scoring 27 and Oscar Jones scoring 16. Unfortunately Town could only pick up 4 points in defeat and with results around the grounds not going in our favour it confirmed that the 2nd XI will be in Division 1 in 2027.

The 3rd XI hosted Treeton at Hill House and batted first and found themselves 28-5 but thanks to a resilient Andy Peirson scoring 14 from 45 alongside Kripal Singh who finished on 42 and a brilliant innings from Ram Rajasundaram scoring 38 managed to drag Town to a total of 148. Treeton did manage to complete the chase, but not before losing 6 wickets, with Joe Horrocks picking up 5-49 and Stuart Macphee (sponsored by Phoenix UK Transport) picked up 1-41. With league restructuring decided in the middle of the season, unfortunately the weak start our 3rd XI made meant the gap to safety was too far away a few weeks back and they will be playing in division 5 next season.

LADIES 1ST XI WIN T20 PLATE

Sunday saw the conclusion of the Ladies 1st XI season as they were in the T20 plate play-offs. Originally scheduled to face Wykeham in the Semi, the opposition were unable to raise a side meaning Town went on to face Saxton in the Final.

After a 3 hour delay due to the weather the sun came out and the match got underway.

Town started strongly, Aura Kent and Emily Copeman (sponsored by CricStudioInc UK) with a fantastic spell of bowling taking the first wicket at the end of the 6th over with Saxton only scoring 11 runs. Saxton knew they needed to go on the attack and started to pick up runs but Town continued to bowl accurately, trying to restrict the runs and pick up wickets. After 15 overs Saxton were on 67 for 1 but finished the losing 3 more wickets for just 9 runs, finishing 76-4 from their 20 overs. Emily Copeman finished with 2-12, Daisy Bayes (sponsored by Dave Blanusha) 1-19 and Shell Styring (sponsored by ReTreat Breaks) 1-6. Aura Kent didn't get any wickets in her spell but only shipped 4 runs from her 4 overs.

The girls weren't complacent with the low target and batted aggressively but sensibly and knocked off the runs in the 11th over for the loss of just 1 wicket. Natalie Brown played some fabulous shots in her 40 not out and the women's top run maker Izzy Fidler, 28 not out, fittingly scored the winning run.

The girls were also awarded the Blackmore Sportsmanship Award, voted for by the umpires over the season
