Confidence is high after a strong performance last week, with a great away win that saw Ryhope bowled out for just 64 β a real statement from the lads.

Match Recap vs Ryhope (A) π
Saturday 25th April
After a disappointing defeat on the opening day of the season Esh first team travelled to ryhope in week 2 hoping for a positive result.
Esh won the toss and elected to bowl first on what looked like a bowler friendly wicket.
The innings started with the bowlers utilising the conditions and taking regular wickets bowling ryhope out for 64 with only D Pearson reaching double figures with a solid 30.

In reply Esh got off to a shaky start losing captain John Carmedy second ball and jack hall when the score was on 17. In very difficult batting conditions the innings was steadied by Gabe 22no and Luke 31no with Esh finishing on 65-3 off 15.1 overs for a much needed and deserved first victory of the season.

Esh 2βs continued their unbeaten start to the season with a hard fought victory at home v silksworth.
Esh batted first and were bowled out for 105 only to bowl their opponents out for 103 in the last over.

Esh Winning CC are on the road this weekend as they travel to Ryhope for a 13:30 start, looking to bounce back after a tough opening day defeat against Tudhoe.
The lads will be eager to put things right with a strong performance away from home. Thereβs just one change to the side, with Gregg Arundel coming in to replace Paddy Donnelly.
Esh will be aiming to get their season up and running! πͺ
Meanwhile, the second team are at home to Silksworth, coming into the game off the back of a great opening win against Hylton, where Ben McKenna impressed with a solid 50.

Weβre delighted to announce that Gabriel Maund will be joining Esh Winning for the 2026 season π
Gabe arrives off the back of a superb 2025 campaign with Darley Abbey CC, where he racked up an outstanding 907 runs - a testament to his consistency and quality at the crease πͺ
Weβre are also excited to welcome Daniel Quigley, a talented young off-spinner from Crook, who adds great depth and potential to our bowling attack π₯
