C Dean & Son are a Rodmell (East Sussex) based Family Business which was established in 1910 by Christopher Dean where his son Frank soon joined him, since then the business has seen another 2 generations which which are:

Grace Louise Dean was born yesterday morning at 9am weighing 8.2lb
I’ll be having a week off to be with the family and then the following week I’ll be doing local half days

Great day yesterday with the BHS at there feet and castration day offering feet trimming and castration to those ponies, horses and donkeys which really need a bit of extra help and help share knowledge to owners which are new to the equine world or want to expand there knowledge
It was amazing to see so many different vets from different veterinary clinics come together and work as one perfect unit and to be asked to be part of that team as a farrier was a privilege and a big learning tool to expand my own knowledge.
Thankyou to the british horse society and all there volunteers, the rspca officers and all the vets for having me.
Now on to a weekend of farrier clinics at farriers focus in Stoneleigh so I may be a bit slow to get back to people whilst I’m away but will be back to normal on Monday

Unfortunately with all bills and running costs constantly increasing there will be a slight increase on my prices which will take effect on January which will include the trim prices as they have been the same for many years
The new prices will be as followed:
New set £100
Refit set £95
New fronts £70
Refit fronts £65
Trim £35
Pins/ stud holes £1.50 per hole/ pin
Standard pads £40
Impression material (per pair) £35
Bar shoes and glue on shoes Vary so please get in touch if they are needed

A couple different styles of glue on shoes I applied over the past week
The black ones are moreaid squish pads for a cob with laminitis and the white ones are called easyshoes for a eventer with particularly sensitive feet which has had some lameness issues
We are so lucky to have companies like moreaid and easyshoes doing the research and making products to make the tricky jobs so much easier

2 lovely Donkeys at St Peter & St James hospice which had there feet trimmed this morning.
They have to be the most loved and most fussed over donkeys I’ve ever dealt with which really shows in there characters.
