Preschool Classes

The first step to learning to swim with Big Blue is our preschool classes. With small class ratios, teachers in the water and ethos of learning through play they can be the perfect first step for children aged 3.5 years and over.

Our preschool waiting list is now open for preschool 1 classes starting August 2026 at all of our venues. Please submit an enquiry form on our website for further information.

Make Up Classes

A reminder that all customers are able to book two makeup classes this term where availability allows. Absence must be noted a minimum of 4hours in advanced of the class.

Make Up Classes — Big Blue Swim School We offer two make up class per term. All make ups are dependant on availability and are not a guarantee. You must notify your absence via the customer portal ahead of the lesson (minimum 4hrs) in order to be eligible for a make up class option. Make up classes cannot be carried over to a new term.

We will be running 3 weeks of summer intensives throughout July and August across Edinburgh.

All customers have access to our customer portal where you can:
• Notify us when your child is going to be absent
• View the contact details we have on file for you and edit them
• Book a make-up class (two per term where availability allows)
• Contact us directly via your portal
• View term dates
• Book a 2nd lesson or summer lesson

Customer Portal — Big Blue Swim School Instructions on how to set up your customer portal can be found in the booking confirmation you will have received when registering for lessons with Big Blue. All customers must set up a username using their email address and a password unique to them.

Want to try triathlon?

Big Blue has a triathlon session for adults and children at our Currie High venue on a Wednesday evening. Further details can be found here:

These can be booked on a pay as you go or termly basis allowing you to give it a go and see what you think prior to any commitment. If you would be interested in attending a free trial please complete an enquiry form on our website and we will get back to you.

*Please not these sessions are open to everyone, not only big blue customers.

Adult Triathlon — Big Blue Swim School Introduction to triathlon is for those new to the sport who already have the ability to swim 100m with recognisable technique in front crawl and are keen to focus on the development of the skills required to complete a multi-sport/open water event.

Big Blue Swim School Big Blue Swim School offers lessons to children aged 2.5years and up. We have venues throughout Edinburgh and a team of highly experienced teachers. We follow a multi-stroke approach with a structured awards scheme that creates confident and competent swimmers.
