Is your child missing a swimming award?

All children receive one swimming award per term. As they are always awarded the highest stage they have achieved this can result in missing awards. These additional awards can be purchased for £4.00.

We also sell Swim England award files to keep your awards safe for the future.

Preschool Classes

The first step to learning to swim with Big Blue is our preschool classes. With small class ratios, teachers in the water and ethos of learning through play they can be the perfect first step for children aged 3.5 years and over.

All of our waiting lists are now open for preschool 1 classes starting January 2027. Please submit an enquiry form on our website to be added to our waiting list

Goggles

Good fitting goggles are essential for children to get the most out of their lessons.

We sell a selection of goggles on our website and can bring them to lessons for you to try prior allowing you to select the best fit.

Want to try triathlon?

Big Blue has a triathlon session for adults and children at our Currie High venue on a Wednesday evening. Further details can be found here:

These can be booked on a pay as you go or termly basis allowing you to give it a go and see what you think prior to any commitment. If you would be interested in attending a free trial please complete an enquiry form on our website and we will get back to you.

Introduction to triathlon is for those new to the sport who already have the ability to swim 100m with recognisable technique in front crawl and are keen to focus on the development of the skills required to complete a multi-sport/open water event.

Customer Portal

All customers have access to our customer portal where you can:
• Notify us when your child is going to be absent
• View the contact details we have on file for you and edit them
• Book a make-up class (two per term where availability allows)
• Contact us directly via your portal
• View term dates
• Book a 2nd lesson

You will be able to track your child's progress through our skills set by week 4 of the term.

Instructions on how to set up your customer portal can be found in the booking confirmation you will have received when registering for lessons with Big Blue. All customers must set up a username using their email address and a password unique to them.

New Rookie Lifeguard Bronze class

- Tuesday - Royal High School - 7.30 to 8.15pm
- 16 weeks remaining - August to December

Rookie bronze is open to all children 8 years and older that have achieved Swim England stage 9 or above (or equivalent learn to swim award). Children must be strong, confident swimmers and able to swim 600-800m continuously.
