Morningside Dance Academy

We are delighted to officially announce the details of auditions for MDA’s Nutcracker, which will return to the stage on December 19th and 20th, 2026! Auditions are open to all dancers in MDA ballet Grades 2 and up. Please note the times and dates of the audition slots, which will be held at the Grange studios:

Auditions: Sunday August 16, 2026
Grades 2 to 3: 15:00 - 16:00
Grades 4 to 5: 16:30 - 17:30
Grades 6+: 18:00 - 19:00

All audition attendees should arrive warmed up and ready to dance, wearing their usual ballet attire with neat and tidy hair. No pointe shoes or character skirts/shoes are required.

Please note, if your dancer is unable to attend the auditions they may still be able to join the cast. Please contact us at [email protected] to discuss alternative arrangements.

Please also note that if the dancer is successful in auditioning, a participation fee will be required. We are happy to discuss this further, as we do not want cost to be a barrier to participation. Any questions about MDA’s Nutcracker should be directed to [email protected] NOT the regular MDA email. We look forward to working with this year’s cast!

IFDAS 73 - Brunton/ Loretto Musselburgh Stage Festival.
Final Day Results and Awards Presentation.
A huge congratulations to all the dancers who competed at the Musselburgh Stage Festival and a massive thank you to Elizabeth Gollan for everything you do. We are always so impressed by how much knowledge you hold and celebrate the legacy of this competition year after year. 89 Trophies were awarded at the presentation. We have no idea how you manage this enormous task, but you do and everyone is so grateful.
