Applications are now open for the new STS Development Programme 🎯

Scottish Target Shooting is launching a new national Development Programme, creating a clearer structured development environment for athletes progressing through the Scottish shooting pathway.

Supported by sportscotland Pathway Investment, the initial centrally funded provision will support eligible Olympic and Paralympic events across Pistol, Smallbore R***e and Sh***un.

The Programme is aimed at athletes who demonstrate:

Potential - to develop towards the relevant performance pathway
Commitment - to purposeful training, learning and continued development
Readiness - to engage with structured coaching and Programme activity

Selection will consider the wider athlete - not simply a single competition score - and athletes are not expected to have already mastered the qualities the Programme exists to develop.

📅 Applications close: 31 October 2026
🎯 First selection: January 2027

STS is also launching opportunities for Development Coaches to help build the workforce supporting the new Programme.
