📣 ONE PATHWAY. DIFFERENT JOURNEYS.

Scottish Target Shooting has published a new draft Pathway Framework for consultation, proposing a clearer, connected whole-sport structure across participation, development and performance.

The Framework is not intended to be a compulsory ladder. People may enter at different points, follow different routes, move between disciplines, pause and return, or remain involved without pursuing formal performance progression.

We now want to hear from participants, athletes, parents, coaches, clubs, volunteers, officials and anyone else with experience of or an interest in Scottish target shooting.

💻 Online consultation session: 15th September 2026 at 7.30pm

Alongside the consultation, STS is also recruiting a new Pathway Coordinator to help establish and coordinate the Development Programme and strengthen connections across the wider Pathway.

STS has been approached by a club looking to install an AED, and we think it's an excellent idea.

As clubs play such an important role in our communities and our sport welcomes participants of all ages, we want to support clubs in purchasing this potentially life-saving equipment. We understand that the cost can be a barrier, and we'd like to help where we can.

The countdown is on! There is now just one month left to enter the STS Winter Rifle Postal Competitions for individuals and teams.

The 2026–27 programme features all your favourite competitions and leagues, and we'd like to remind all STS members that entry to the Medal and CanDicap competitions is FREE! 🎯

We're also delighted to be running the Schools Prone Championships once again, alongside the introduction of a NEW Sporter Individual League.

🏆 MULTI-DISCIPLINE FUN SHOOT | NEWTONMORE TARGET CLUB

What a fantastic day of shooting at the multi-discipline fun shoot held at the range near Kingussie! 🎯

Competitors took on a varied programme of challenges across a number of disciplines and distances, including air rifles, muzzle loading rifles and other fi****ms.

The competition included:

🔹 Air rifle stages using break-barrel and pre-charged pneumatic rifles
🔹 25-yard muzzle loading rifle shooting at bullseye targets
🔹 A range of disciplines and fi****ms on the 50-yard range
🔹 A challenging .22 LBP paper skittle shoot, with competitors progressing from 25 yards to 20, 15 and finally 10 yards
🔹 Timed sections using electronically controlled turning targets

With scores combined across all the courses of fire, there was plenty to compete for, with medals and prizes awarded to the top performers.
