Pro Insight Sessions #4 | Leadership
In this one Harvey is honest about losing his head on the pitch and how that affects the delivery of your communication on the field.
In the heat of the battle, when emotions are high and the game is on the line, it can be very difficult to get the message across. The instinct is to scream in someone’s face, to vent, to think they need to hear it right now, your way.
But Harvey’s point is the opposite. Speaking calmly and clearly, even with a smile, gives the team confidence and your message lands properly.
Easier said than done, though. Anyone who’s played a competitive game knows how hard it is to keep your head when things are going against you. The fact that someone playing at the very top of the game is openly working on this is the lesson in itself. The best players are never finished learning.
Thank you for being so open with our players.

Having a laugh whilst getting better 👊
Who’s more important - the player with the ball, or the player without it?
Watch this back and the answer’s both.
This is from receiving a kick in the back field:
On the ball, it’s about taking the space and carrying with pace. Get that right and you put the defence on the back foot.
The players off the ball are what make the difference. The players working hardest when they haven’t got it, communicating, identifying the space, getting into position before the ball even arrives. That’s the stuff that doesn’t make the highlight reel. It’s also the stuff that wins games.
This is what we drill on a Friday evening. Not just what to do with the ball, it’s what to you do without it.
Massive credit to the lads.
You’ve seen the Instagram version. Now for the real behind the scenes 👀
Turns out some of the boys like the camera a lot more than they let on...
Wait for the end.
Thank your for being good sports fellas 👏
Friday Evening Skill Sessions.
This is Robbie. A physical player that’s now adding the soft touches to take his game to the next level.
We love working with players like Robbie. Hungry to improve, by getting the reps in. He’s not afraid to fail until the skill starts to feel natural and become part of his game.
Massive credit to him and all the lads that are creating this environment by supporting each other to get better 👊
Communication = cheat code
Takes bravery to talk and call the space. But if you back yourself and start speaking up, your game will go to the next level.
Square hips = power in the tackle
Watch breakdown a key concept in the tackle during our Easter camp.

The wrong option at pace beats the right option with hesitation 👊
Attack tip from coach
Be decisive. With pace. Make the defence react to you and you control where the space is.
It’s not about the perfect decision every time. Make it quick. Fully commit.
Great to chat with Rory after one of our sessions.
We get such a buzz from helping boys and girls become better rugby players, taking what they’ve learnt back to their clubs 🙌
See you in June Rory.
you’ve got a good one here!
BTS with a Pro Rugby Player. A day in rehab.
Professional rugby is a lot of fun with plenty of highs! But it’s a physical game, and injuries are common. We wanted to share a side of it most people don’t see, but comes with being a rugby player.
Getting back can feel like a grind. Lonely sometimes. It’s about staying consistent through these times and earning the highlights again.
Thanks for letting us in 👊
