Restronguet Sailing Club is situated on the West bank of Carrick Roads at the mouth of the beautiful river Fal.

Since it’s foundation in 1933, the club has aimed to foster sailing in general, but places particular importance on encouraging young talent. The club has a long tradition of developing national and international medal-winners and for organising successful championships for fleets of up to 150 boats. The committee would like to extend to you a warm welcome. We hope that you will find us a friendly

The weather may have been heavy, but that didn’t stop the RSC and cruisers from getting out on the water this weekend 🌧️⛵️

A great social sail over to Fowey topped off with a brilliant get-together.

Part of the joy of learning to sail and being on the water is the wildlife you get to see

Any formalities will be kept short for maximum social time, and hot off the press (or out of the oven) news - pasties are included!

Please let Sharon know if you would like a pasty so we can get a gauge on numbers.

Club and bar open from 7pm, with proceedings starting at 7:30.

Next up in our winter programme we have in quick succession our rules evenings on 27th Feb followed by winter sailing 2 on the 28th Feb (signup to come shortly).

The rules evening will be an accessible, social evening lead by Neil Andrew (former international race office and juror) and is open to all levels of racing sailor from beginner to seasoned vets. It promises to be both light hearted and informative.

Pastys are included but it would be most helpful if you could let Sharon know you are coming so she can get a gauge on numbers.

And yes, I did get AI to make a poster for me.

Once again we have entered the depths of cornish winter and early spring, but never fear, because we still have a social, sailing and training calendar lined up for you.

Sailing -

After the success of last years winter sailing sessions, we are repeating with the same format - two safety boats, short course informal racing around a training course on Saturday mornings.

Dates as follows: Feb 14th, Feb 28th, March 14th, March 28th.

Signup emails to follow. Please note that safety cover will be on a voluntary basis, and if you are signing up to sail for a session it will be expected that you will pay it back by helping out in a subsequent session.

Social -

As well as on the water, we have off the water too:

January 16th - The Big RSC Quiz, hosted by Henry Hallam

January 31st - RSC Race officer and race crew training

February 27th - Rules Clinic, an informal RRS evening with Neil Andrew

March 7th - RSC mark laying course

March 20th - Preseason social! - Prizegiving and new members nights combined.

Training -

There will be ad hoc RS200 training during the winter. For details contact Kyle Brown.

Happy sailing, tinkering, or just plain hiding next to the fireplace.
