🧡 10 YEARS OF EVERYBODY PILATES
This year, Everybody Pilates Locks Heath is celebrating 10 years — and we want to hear from you.

Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or only joined recently, we’d love to know what your time at the studio has meant to you.

Maybe you’ve achieved something through Pilates that you never thought you could. Maybe there’s an exercise you’re now weirdly proud of mastering. Or perhaps you have a favourite class, instructor, funny moment or memory that always makes you smile.

And it definitely doesn’t have to be serious… tell us about the exercise you’ll never forgive us for introducing, the friendships you’ve made, or that moment you realised just how far you’d come.

We’re collecting your stories and memories throughout October as we celebrate 10 years of Everybody Pilates Locks Heath.
So, if you’ve got a story to share — big, small, funny, emotional or somewhere in between — we’d love to hear it.

Drop us a message, chat to us next time you’re in the studio, or tell one of the team. 🧡

Here’s to 10 years of Pilates, people and plenty of questionable exercises.

Something special is getting closer… 👀🧡

October is going to be a very special month for us because Everybody Pilates Locks Heath is turning 10! 🥳

Ten years.

Ten years of movement, learning, challenges, achievements, friendships and of course, a whole lot of Pilates.

We’d like to say we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey along the way.

So, we’re not letting this milestone pass by quietly!

We’ve got some lovely things planned throughout October, and most importantly, we want you to be part of the celebrations. 🧡

We’re keeping the details under wraps for just a little longer… 👀

But there will be more than one reason to join us throughout our birthday month!
Keep an eye on your inbox and socials — we’ll be revealing more very soon.

10 years. One very special birthday month. 🎉

🧡 Move More September is the perfect time to focus not just on moving more, but on how we move.

🎯 This week, we’re exploring the Pilates principle of CONTROL.

Control is about moving with intention — resisting momentum, staying connected and making every movement count. It’s not about how much you can do, but how well you can do it.

Slow it down, focus in and see what changes. 👀✨

Join us in class this week as we put Control into practice!

📲 Book your class via the app or website — we’d love to see you there!

Why do we start with The Hundred?

Because it tells us — and you — a great deal about the body before the session has really begun.

The Hundred is one of the defining exercises of the Classical Pilates system. On the Mat it opens the traditional order; on the Reformer it arrives immediately after Footwork. And there is a reason it appears so early.

It wakes up the whole body.

The abdominals organise and support the trunk. The arms pump strongly from the back. The legs reach away from a stable centre. The head and upper spine lift, the breath becomes deliberate, and circulation begins to increase.

But The Hundred is more than a warm-up.
Done well, it introduces many of the ideas we will keep returning to throughout the session:control, opposition, length, stability, coordination, concentration and breath.

It also gives the teacher an immediate picture. Can you organise the centre without gripping? Can you sustain the position while breathing? Can the limbs move vigorously without disturbing the trunk? Where does the body compensate when the work becomes demanding?

And because Pilates is a system, what we discover in The Hundred doesn’t stay in The Hundred. The same organisation reappears in exercises throughout the Mat, Reformer and wider apparatus work — expressed in increasingly complex ways.

So when a room full of people begins pumping together, it isn’t simply tradition for tradition’s sake.

The Hundred sets the body up for everything that follows.

100 beats. One whole-body exercise. A very Classical place to begin.
