I was completely blown away today.
After my final Locks Heath Lions World Cup tournament as Chair, I was presented with this incredible picture and a Waterstones voucher (which may already be mentally spent!).
The picture is brilliant and sums me up rather well – football, books and a healthy obsession with ChatGPT! 😆
It’s been a huge part of my life for the last few years and I’m proud of everything the club has achieved. I’ve met some wonderful people, watched so many children grow in confidence, and made memories I’ll always treasure.
Now it’s time for a new chapter. The Waterstones voucher is especially perfect as anyone who knows me knows I never seem to be far away from a book!
A huge thank you to everyone for such a thoughtful gift and for making my final tournament such a lovely day ❤️🦁📚

Chair Role – Locks Heath Lions ⚽
After three years as Chair of Locks Heath Lions, I’ll be stepping down from the role on 31st May.
It’s been a huge privilege to be part of the club and to support so many players, coaches and families over that time. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved together.
We’re now looking for someone to take on the Chair role and help lead the club into its next chapter.
The role is focused on the overall governance of the club — making sure we’re operating in line with FA and league rules and that the right structures are in place.
It includes:
• Supporting the committee and helping guide decision-making
• Overseeing key areas (safeguarding, finance, fixtures etc.)
• Acting as a central point for communication where needed
• Maintaining relationships with leagues and external partners
• Helping shape the direction of the club going forward
It’s less about day-to-day coaching and more about the bigger picture and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
If you’re interested, or would like an informal chat to find out more, please feel free to get in touch. Please also share with anyone who may be interested.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported me over the last three years — it really does mean a lot ❤️
Huge congratulations to our U16 Blues!

Not a bad day for football, here are the weekly round ups! 🦁⚽️🦁⚽️🦁
Team: LHL U8 Greens
Played: Stoneham Mavericks
MotM: Josh and Harvey
The boys left it to our last league game to serve up the game of the season. Every single one of them entered the pitch as a boy and left as a little man. It was a slow start against a very talented Stoneham team, who until recently were playing a couple of leagues above us. It was a difficult first quarter, but it was followed by 3 quarters of incredible energy, bravery and skill, resulting in an overall dominant performance. There was solid defensive work from Ellis, Jenson and Fynn. Their brave tackling and tactical understanding kept the opposition largely in their own half. They were always helped out by Thomas and Larry, who both showed tireless running to close down the opposition all over the pitch. The difference on the day came from outstanding attacking play from Josh and Harvey. The dynamic duo were both an absolute handful and their teamwork resulted in a gluttonous haul of goals. Both deservedly shared the MOTM award.
Despite the league season being over, this performance has set us up perfectly for tournament season.
Goals: Harvey, Josh
Assists: Josh, Fynn, Harvey

🏆 Team: Locks Heath Lions U12 Reds
⚽ Played: Lee Rangers
🧍♂️ Player of the Match: Eddie
📊 Score: 1-4
✍️ Match Summary: A good performance from the lions today despite the loss. We were slow off the blocks and quickly found ourselves 3-0. However, we settled and started playing some really nice football but couldn't find that cutting edge. We hit the post before getting caught on the break. Then Toby finally got his goal slotting it nicely past the keeper. Eddie POTM with his tackling, hard work and passing out the back.
