Happy New Year from Scottish Grappling — and welcome to our 20th Anniversary Year
As we step into 2026, we are proud to say that this year marks 20 years of Scottish Grappling, working in close partnership with UKBJJA to develop, support, and grow Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and grappling across Scotland and the wider UK.
What began in 2006 as a small, committed community has grown into one of the most established and respected grappling organisations in the country. That growth has been driven by the athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers, clubs, and supporters who have given their time, trust, and belief to both Scottish Grappling and UKBJJA.
Over the next 12 months, we will be celebrating that history while continuing to build the future — with major events, new initiatives, and an even stronger focus on athlete development, competition standards, and community engagement.
We look forward to seeing many of you very soon at the 2026 Scottish Open on 7th February, as we begin a landmark year for the organisation.
To everyone who has been part of this journey: thank you.
To those joining us for the first time this year: welcome.
Here’s to an exciting 2026 and to 20 years of Scottish Grappling.
