Hyndland Bowling Club

Hyndland Bowling Club Hyndland Bowling Club was founded in 1904 by Mr Hugh M Mackie, CA. The first Opening Day was on 5th May 1905.

He had recently come to the district, and missed the bowling facilities of his native Stewarton. The open space in Queensborough Gardens appeared an admirable site for a bowling green. Soon the proprietors of the ground, Messrs Duncanson and Henderson, were approached, and by December 1904, the club-house was ready. In 1931, because accommodation for all the teams playing on Match days had become impossibly cramped, the members approved an extension to the club-house, comprising a social room, kitchen and ladies' room. This work was completed the following year. In 1996, the Bowling Club, with its neat green, and well-kept club-house, still enhances the heart of Hyndland.

HISTORY MAKERS 🏆 🏆 🏆

What an incredible end to the season which seen the culmination of the GBA Top 5 Singles in which Hyndland managed to overcome Chryston in this mornings semi final and Cardonald in the final in the afternoon, adding to the Millenium Triples and GBA Top 10 trophies.

An unforgettable season in GBA competitions. Thanks to all the players who contributed across a long season. Thanks to everyone who came out to show support in all the games throughout the season!

We now look forward to competing in next seasons Scottish Top 5 and Scottish Top 10 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 5

Sadly today was the end of the national championships for Hyndland for 2026.

Peter Murray unfortunately lost out 21-9 this morning and our pair of Darren Gualtieri and Ryan Gualtieri also fell at the quarter final stage to a good Kirkliston pair.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to come down and support the players all week.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 4

Another great win for our pair of Darren and Ryan who progressed to tomorrow’s quarter final match against Kirkliston after a convincing win against Abbey. They will be on Green A, Rink 2 at 12.00pm tomorrow.

It was a nice double as Peter Murray had a good opening win against Campbeltown’s Lee Allen which now sets up a second round match with Barry McGregor of Burnhead on Green C, Rink 5 at 9.30am tomorrow morning.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 3

It was a winning start for the Hyndland pair of Darren Gualtieri and Ryan Gualtieri against a spirited Alloa East End team.

Locked at 10-10 after 14 ends, the boys scored back to back pairs to give them a 4 shot cushion going up the final end which they managed to see out.

They now play Abbey BC at 3.30pm tomorrow. Green A, Rink 6.

Also starting his campaign is Peter Murray who faces off against Campbelltown’s Lee Allan. They kick off at 4.00pm on Green D, Rink 3.
