A disappointing day on the Circuit today for all our Competitors.
In the Bowls Scotland Over 55 Singles matches there was a double success for Westermains BC.
Fraser Grant triumphed 21-12 over Gus Nicolson at Banton while John Deans was unfortunate to come up against Jim Byron who was at the top of his game at Milton of Campsie.
In the DWBA District Final our Ladies teams both had the misfortune of meeting Condorrat teams on their own Green.
The Fours team of Carole, Eileen, Morag and Mhairi were defeated by opponents who took full advantage of their local knowledge.
The Triples game was a close match with Elspeth, Jennifer and Mary ahead until the 13th end. Two single shots in the final 2 ends closed out a narrow 14-11 victory.
We wish the 2 Westermains players well for the semi final and the Condorrat Ladies for the County Final.
Another busy day for the Club today as we have 2 Gents playing in Bowls Scotland Over 55 Singles quarter finals and 7 Ladies representing the Club in the DWBA District final at Condorrat.
Tonight the Club is hosting 5 Bowls Scotland quarter finals. We hope the weather will be favourable to have all games completed without any disruption.
At 1pm this afternoon Gus Nicolson plays at Banton while John Deans is at Milton of Campsie. Both of our Gents meet opposition from Westermains BC.
At 2pm our Triples team of Elspeth Hunter, Jennifer Alexander and Mary Calder will play a Triple from Condorrat.
Meanwhile our Fours Team of Carole Binnie, Eileen Wilson, Morag Daly and Mhairi Campbell will also be playing for their place in the County Final in 2 weeks time.
Good luck to all our representatives in their respective games today.

Bowls Scotland quarter finals update
This morning Mhairi Campbell was awarded a walkover in the Over 55 Singles owing to the non appearance of her opponent.
Mhairi will play her semi final on Sunday June 14th against Lenzie.
The Over 55 Fours game ended in a 16-13 victory for Lenzie against our team of Eileen Wilson, Carole Binnie, Jennifer Alexander and Mary Calder. A strong finish from the Lenzie Ladies over the final 3 ends turned this match in their favour.
We wish the Lenzie Ladies well for the rest of the qualifiers.
Thanks to Carole for stepping at the last minute owing to the late withdrawal of Diana Burke.
A good start to the Quarter Finals weekend of the Ladies Bowls Scotland district qualifiers today.
Our Ladies Fours team of Morag Daly, Mary Calder, Jennifer Alexander and Mhairi Campbell had a comfortable victory over a strong Milton of Campsie team at Kilsyth.
Tomorrow morning Mhairi Campbell plays Campsie in the Over 55 Singles at Lenzie and at the same time at Woodilee our Over 55 Fours team of Eileen Wilson, Diana Burke, Jennifer Alexander and Mary Calder will play Lenzie.
Good luck to all our Ladies tomorrow.

DWBA and Bowls Scotland update.
The Club had representation in both Gents Bowls Scotland and Dunbartonshire Women’s qualifiers this afternoon.
Our Ladies triples team of Elspeth Hunter, Jennifer Alexander and Mary Calder had a narrow 12-10 victory over Kirkintilloch this afternoon at Westerton.
The Kirkintilloch Ladies pulled back from 11-5 down to 11-10 going into the final end which was eventually won by a measure to avoid an extra end.
Congratulations to Gus Nicolson who had a fine comeback in the Over 55 Singles against Colin Deacon of Lenzie to finally win 21-20.
Gus is joined in the quarter final by John Deans who was advised earlier in the week that he was being granted a walkover today.
Regrettably our Senior Fours team of Martin Walker, Dave Addie, Tommy Gallagher and Bill Kerr were narrowly defeated 14-10 by Stoneyetts.
Our Triples team (pictured at the conclusion of their game) will join our Ladies Fours team at the inter-district final at Condorrat next Thursday afternoon.
Hopefully our “Magnificent 7” can win next week and give us 2 teams in the County Final.
Good luck to all our successful players next week.
The Ladies Bowls Scotland qualifiers will commence this weekend.

Bowls Scotland Mixed Pairs result from tonight-
Auchinloch 13, Banton 19.
A close and keenly contested game at Campsie in which Anne Wilson and David Calder were 1 shot ahead going into the final 3 ends however the Banton pairing of Elaine Kelly and John Smith turned on the style in the final 3 ends to proceed to the next round.
We wish Banton all the best for the remainder of the tournament.
In the K&D Friday league games the club had mixed fortunes.
Our Gents lost both games versus Kilsyth while the Ladies won both home and away vs Westermains in the afternoon.
