Recovery is one of the most overlooked aspects of performance in netball!

While stretching, foam rolling and active recovery all have their place. Sleep and nutrition are the true foundations. During deep sleep, your body repairs muscle tissue, regulates hormones allowing you to recover! Proper nutrition replenishes energy and provides the protein your muscles need to rebuild stronger.

No amount of foam rolling replaces what your body does naturally when you give it the fuel and rest it needs. Prioritise the basics and your performance will follow.

An often misconception is that getting stronger makes you slower and less agile! This couldn’t be further from the truth…

If you get stronger, this will help you produce more force to help improve your accelerations and jump height but also improve your ability to decelerate to change direction!

Balancing all of your training can seem overwhelming and can result in you feeling like you don’t have time to train, which often isn’t the case.

Changing the approach of “I can’t gym as I have netball” will help you have more days for full recovery and take your performance to the next level!

📊Splitting up your days into high and low stress is a great method to ensure you train hard with great intensity but still have plenty of days to recover.

Improving your agility is an essential part to being a competitive netball player!

To be able to change direction quickly you need to be able to do a few simple things well:

1 - Produce a lot of force quickly
2- Be able to move sideways quickly and effectively
3- Be able to decelerate efficiently.

So here are 3 exercises to help with that:
1 - Trap bar deadlifts
2 - Lateral bounds
3 - Drop lands

Over the last few months England Amputee football player .12 has been working hard with away from training camps and gaining the rewards with a recent speed PB of 6%. Going from 6.4 to 6.8 m/s!

This not sound like a lot but when running on crutches, it’s a pretty big difference to be making!

We’re super excited to announce we have now began a new partnership with a new netball club, .

We will be working to build an understanding of what S&C is and educate the juniors on how we can move more effectively to perform better and reduce our risks of injury alongside having healthy relationship with sport.

We’ve been a bit MIA recently but we’re super proud and excited to say we have made a recent partnership with England Men’s Netball Trailblazers squad!

We will be assisting them at camps in the run up to their tour in Singapore as well as providing a remote programme for the team!
