We're on the road this week for our first away trip of the season, with possibly our longest trip of the lot!

This Sunday we'll be travelling to Keswick Falcons. It's been a few seasons since we played the Falcons, so we're looking forward to facing up to them again!

Cup second round, here we come! A great result yesterday, which showed all the hard work we had put into training in defence and attack. We had to work hard for the 31-5 win, especially in the first half, with a strong Sandal side who kept pushing us all the way.

We had a stoppage in the second half due to a head injury (we were glad to hear the player was okay!), which could have affected momentum, but we kept our focus and got that win!

Well done to the following award winners:

Forward of the Match - Natty, for some big carries and some even bigger tackles! She was also great at keeping our spirits up all game!

Back of the Match - Anna Stodter, for her fantastic work rate and smart kicking to create territory.

Coaches & Opposition's Pick - Nina Zebedee-Howard for her prolific try and conversion scoring efforts (bagging a massive 22 points with 3 tries and 3 conversions!). She made all that possible with her work rate and creating space out wide.

Congrats as well to Rachel and Tegan Wollaston who scored our other tries. An amazing effort all round the park!

We're back in the League again this week, with a big trip to Keswick!

We're very happy to announce our leadership team for the 2026/27 season! Under our new coach, we have different roles for this season, to expand the responsibility for team leadership.

This group brings a strong mix of experience, rugby knowledge and leadership, as well as a focus on player development. Each leader will play an important role in setting standards and ensuring everyone has a voice and feels part of the team on and off the pitch.

Well done to these fantastic ladies for this achievement!

This weekend we're excited to get stuck back into the Cup. It's been a few seasons since we took part, and our first match of the Cup is sure to be a cracker!

Our opposition on Sunday, Sandal Warriors got all the way to the final of the Women's Junior Cup last season, and have just been promoted to NC1.

We're looking forward to what we're sure will be a challenging match-up!

Although the first result of the season wasn't a win, we were very pleased with our reaction to keep going and showing plenty of resilience. Bishop Auckland were a team of strong runners, who kept us working in defence and kept their momentum up. We were proud of everyone's efforts, and we know what we need to work on this week in training!

Well done to the following award winners:

Forward of the Match - Erin Thompson who was consistent in her work-rate throughout the game, from her tackles to her carries and line-out throws!

Back of the Match - Ella Powell did some fantastic try saving tackles and showed some real development in her kicking game so far this season!

Coaches Pick - Emily Scholefield after a bit of time away, we're glad to have Emily's power and ability to keep working back on the pitch!

Opposition's Pick - Caitlyn Lambert was picked out by the opposition for her big carries and bigger tackles!

Big congrats as well to our two debuts who earned their first team team caps, Abigail Lambert and Alice O'Connor. Alice has shown real commitment to improve in training to work up to a first team start, and Abigail has just joined us, so we're looking forward to see how she develops!

We'll be picking ourselves back up for our first Cup game of the season this weekend!

Our first result of the season didn't quite go our way...but we're proud of everyone's drive and attitude for the full 80! Bishop Auckland Ladies RUFC came out fighting, and got the win, with a 7-43 scoreline.

We had lots of positives to take away from the match, along with some learnings that we will take into our upcoming games. Thanks to all our supporters for coming down to cheer us on!
