Over the past few weeks, we have been busy preparing the course for the winter months.
The greens have received a double scarification at 6mm, helping to remove unwanted material and improve air movement through the surface. This will help keep the greens healthy and encourage good recovery going into the winter.
Our winter tree work has also started, with a number of trees marked for removal. This work is carried out to improve light and airflow around the course, while also giving the remaining trees more room to develop. Improving light and air movement at ground level also helps the surrounding turf.
We are also carrying out a week-long trial of the latest Husqvarna robotic mower. The robot has been programmed to cut the rough around the 12th hole during the day, and the apron and pathways at night.
