Off-season is all about preparing your body ready for pre-season ⚽️

You want to focus on the basic elements that form the foundation of your fitness πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

This isn’t about crazy plyos or balancing acts. You’re supposed to be creating a rock solid core in movement quality and confidence for the more advanced stuff later πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ

On top of that your conditioning and endurance should be lower intensity. If you go full on with HIIT runs and hill sprints all the time you’ll burn out before the season even starts. You are ramping up to the start of pre-season and the season starting βœ…

If you want to get faster, quicker and more agile then this drill covers the lot βœ…

Being able to get out quickly, stop and change directions all help you to move faster on the pitch.

The key to each movement is to
-sprint as fast as you can to the next cone
-stop at the next cone in the shortest time and distance
-shift your body sideways
-sprint out again from changing directions

To be faster, quicker and fitter in football you need strong and powerful legs 🦡 broad jumps will help you do that βœ…

The main points when doing broad jumps is
-triple extension, fully extend the ankle, knee and hip joint to maximise force output
-max effort, go as high and far as possible
-strong and controlled landing

Do 3-5 jumps for 3-5 sets/rounds depending on your fitness level but make sure to rest at least 60-90s between to maintain high intensity.

The key to jump back starts is to land from the jump and react as quickly as possible into your sprint πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

It’s a great way to train reactions without a partner or fancy kit. Try it yourself, do 3-5 reps over 10-20m sprints and see how it can make you a faster footballer βœ…
