"Joining the Cardinals this season with absolutely no experience in American football, I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I came to both rookie days and got hooked from day one. I was welcomed, supported, and made to feel like I belonged from the first day meeting the players and the coaches.

What started as joining a team has now turned into finding a forever family, people who have your back both on and off the field. I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who has helped me along my journey and who had pushed me to be better.

I can’t wait to see what the next few seasons bring."

Rookie Tom Harrison joined mid year with no football experience, and by the end, he was a getting reps in the National Championship, Tom had this to say about his first season with the club:

"I joined the Cardinals just before Game 6 of the season with no real idea of what I was going to do, let alone thinking I would get much game time.

From the start of my first training session, the guys were incredibly friendly and supportive, and the coaches were brilliant at breaking things down and making everything easier to understand.

Obviously, I joined during a season where the club enjoyed a huge amount of success, which was awesome to be a small part of. But for me, the best part of joining the team has been becoming part of such an awesome family.

And that doesn't just mean the players and coaches. It also includes the amazing supporters — officially the best in Britball — who have been absolutely brilliant and made my wife feel so welcome whenever she's come along to watch the games.

I'm incredibly grateful to have been welcomed into the Cardinals family and to have been able to play a small part in what has been such a special season."

Next up... Hopsters!

We've been lucky enough to have Hopsters Ipswich as not only long-time sponsors but genuine fans of the club too. We visited Ed who told us about how it felt to watch the National Championship game live on tv and we were touched that people were rooting for us in the same way they root for big NFL teams! We have the best fans in the country, truly.

Last weekend, the lads were invited down to Hopsters Beach Street Bar for a celebration of the National Championship winning season... and safe to say they enjoyed it! With a range of interesting craft beers, ciders, spirits and even frozen cocktails, the team relished in trying the lot!

Not only sponsors but friends of the Ipswich Cardinals, we would like to thank Ed and the Hopsters crew for their continued support! If you'd like to visit and try Hopsters for yourself, visit any of the pages below for more information:

Next up, The Bio Mechanix Ipswich !

Led by Dr Samuel B Jepson (D.C) The Bio Mechanix have been an integral part to our championship season. Providing personalised chiropractic care, sensory deprivation, cold exposure, recovery boots, and massage to our players straight after a sunday game, reducing the time it takes to get back to playing fitness...no doubt this helped keep players ready to go for all 11 games.

The boys love the professional but relaxed setup and the services provided. We look forward to this partnership hopefully extending into the far future!

Huge thank you to The Bio Mechanix Ipswich !

Half time in the National Championship. 18-0 up.

Defensive Captain Ryan Caley decided to rally the troops with the help of Coach Puff and reciever Nana Sakyi.

Unfortunately, on the breakdown... His voice broke down...

Alas, he couldn't let that be the last thing anyone remembered of him in the final.

Next up on our record breakers in our historic season!

Starting with Ryan Caley and his all-time record of 20 interceptions! His last coming in the National Championship! An absolute ball hawk who also has the all-time interception return yards with 404! In a run heavy division and playing 4 seasons as a backer after starting his senior career as a corner - that’s not half bad!

Finally, we have Jack Lake, a talented veteran of the game who set the single game record this season with 3 picks against Berkshire.

Amazing work by our junior team to produce the talent it has done!

Ryan also would like to thank his sponsor Big Red for their continued support and Perform For Sport for keeping him sport ready this year.

We are very lucky as an organisation that we not only get fantastic sponsors but also professionals who want to help improve the players. That is exactly what Adam, Charlotte and Dan at Perform For Sport have done yet again for another season.

Perform for sport is more than a gym. It's an Athlete Development Facility that provides professional level testing followed by sports and positional specific training per athlete. With a level of dedication to the development of players that you don't get in regular gyms, including speed, strength, mobility, velocity, and resistance training along with physio, rehab and even a sports psychologist( ) its no surprise Perform For Sport has helped to produce athletes such as last year's MVP Niall Simmons, Defensive Captain Ryan Caley and Running Back Nat Adams.

But that's not all. Charlotte has been our saviour on game days. Providing excellent pitch side help from taping players and physio work to high-level medical assistance. Many of our players owe Charlotte a drink or two for keeping them game ready throughout the season.

If you want to improve in your sport. Visit Perform For Sport
