WHAT A RESPONSE FROM THE LADS! 👏

After last week's disappointing performance, we demanded a reaction today, and that's exactly what we got!

We asked for hard work, running, effort and, most importantly, to get the ball down and play football. The lads certainly delivered on all fronts.

Up against a physical BOCA side, we knew we had to stand our ground, compete and match them throughout. We did just that, while also showing some really good passages of football.

Unfortunately, BOCA let themselves down at times with constant diving and going to ground far too easily. There was also a lack of class from them at the final whistle, but we won't dwell on that. We got the job done, took the three points and move on!

Our goals came through Connor Calvert, Mason McClements and an own goal, which was forced by a dangerous Mike Mansell free kick.

A massive shout-out to Liam Pattison, who returned between the sticks following his injury. At 2–1, Liam produced a huge one-on-one save to keep us ahead at a crucial point in the game. A massive moment! 🧤👏

🏆 MAN OF THE MATCH – MASON McCLEMENTS

What a performance from Mason! He covered just about every blade of grass, flew into strong tackles and never stopped working for the team. Despite taking two elbows to the face, leaving him with a bust lip and nose, he carried on battling and maintained a brilliant level throughout. Topped it off by getting himself on the scoresheet. A proper committed performance! 👏

🏆 SUPPORTERS' MAN OF THE MATCH – CONNOR CALVERT

Another outstanding display from Connor. He was brilliant playing between the lines, linking our midfield and attack and causing problems throughout. Got his deserved goal and put in some serious graft leading the line, setting the tone for our press from the front. Excellent all-round performance! 👏

Overall, a fantastic response from the whole squad. The work rate, desire and willingness to play for each other were there for everyone to see. That's the standard we expect, and now it's about making sure we maintain it every single week.

We now turn our attention to another tough test next Saturday as we welcome AFC Willerby to our place.

Three points. Big reaction. Onto the next! 🟠⚫⚽

🟠⚫ MATCH PREVIEW | ROBIN AFC v BOCA SENIORS ⚽

Tomorrow we return to home action as we welcome BOCA Seniors to Malet Lambert 3G in Division 2.

After last week's disappointing performance, we're looking for a big reaction from the lads. We know the standards we expect, and tomorrow is an opportunity to put things right.

There are a few changes to the squad this week, with Jake Scott, Mason McClements and Mike Reade all returning. We also welcome Liam Pattison back between the sticks following his injury.

Unfortunately, Jamie Tune and Jacob Moon-Dunn miss out through injury.

Availability has been strong this week, with some big numbers to choose from. With six players missing out on the squad, there have been some tough decisions to make, but that's part of having a competitive squad.

We don't know a great deal about BOCA Seniors, other than what we've heard through word of mouth. By all accounts, they're a good footballing side with plenty of energy, so we know we'll have to be switched on and ready to compete from the very first whistle.

The reaction has to come from us. More energy, more intensity, more togetherness and a willingness to work for each other for the full 90 minutes.

We would like to wish a massive happy 40th birthday to our club chairman, first team manager and under 14's coach! Paul Allen has played a major role in the founding of this club and helped in the growth of the club with our now 4 teams of various ages! He strives to lead the club in the right direction and be a guiding hand for all of our teams and players! This club wouldn't be where it is without him, so thank you Paul and have an amazing birthday 👏🎂💪🖤🧡

🏆 SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH – KIERAN JOHNSON 🏆

Our September Player of the Month goes to Kieran Johnson! 👏⚽️

Kieran has been a consistent performer week after week, always wanting to get on the ball, play on the front foot and drive the team forward.

He’s also shown exactly what it means to put your body on the line for the team — September has left him with a bust lip, black eye and a battered cheekbone along the way! 🤕😂

Never backs out of a challenge, never hides and is always prepared to give everything for the badge.
A fully deserved award after an excellent month.

👏 Congratulations, Kieran! 🧡🖤

FULL TIME | NORTHSIDE SPORTING 6–1 ROBIN AFC

A very poor performance from us today and one we have to take responsibility for.
We lacked energy and enthusiasm, and there simply wasn’t enough team play in our performance. At times we overplayed, while at others we didn’t play the ball enough. We didn’t press together as a team, and a number of individual errors proved costly.

Credit to Northside, who stuck to their game plan throughout. They looked to play the ball long into their quick attacking players and caused us problems with it all afternoon. Most importantly, when their chances came, they were clinical in front of goal.

We did create chances of our own but failed to take them. Our only goal came through Mike Mansell, who produced a brilliant strike into the top corner. ⚽️

At the other end, Jack Platten made a number of very good saves in the Robin goal and, despite the scoreline, kept the final score from being even higher.

There’s no hiding from a performance like this. As players, we have to look at ourselves and recognise that the standards weren’t good enough. As a management team, we also have to reflect on the performance, our decisions and player selection.

We set clear targets and standards during pre-season, and we have to get back to those standards — and above them. That starts at training on Thursday.

We take this one on the chin, learn from it and move forward together.

Congratulations to Northside Sporting and good luck to them in the next round of the cup and for the rest of the season.

Our attention now turns to next Saturday and another big test as we welcome BOCA Seniors at home. 🟠⚫️

🏆 CUP ACTION | NORTHSIDE SPORTING 🆚 ROBIN AFC

This weekend sees us back on the road as we travel to Northside Sporting in the ERFA Cup — a fixture that seems to be becoming an annual occurrence in the cup!

Over the years, there have been some brilliant games between the two sides, and we’re sure Saturday will be no different.

It’ll be a good test for the lads against a Northside side who have started the season strongly and currently sit 5th in the league above.

Once again, it’s a changed Robin squad. We’re missing a few who were involved last weekend, but welcome back several lads who were unavailable last time out.

Another solid session tonight and great numbers.
Preparing for a tough cup game on Saturday 💪🧡🖤
