Here's my challenge to you this week.

Identify one familiar response that's holding you back. Ask yourself what you're afraid might happen if you chose differently, then invite the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth behind that fear.

Don't just recognise what needs to change. Be willing to respond to what God reveals. That's where I've experienced some of my greatest breakthroughs.

And if you're ready to explore more, you'll find my free book Trust – Faith's Foundation, with 30 Day Devotional - along with other resources to encourage your journey towards wholeness and freedom.

Are you making a decision?
Or trying to make a feeling stop?

Saying yes can bring relief when you dread disappointing someone. Taking control can ease the discomfort of uncertainty. Staying silent can spare you a difficult conversation.

But that relief doesn’t tell you whether the choice was wise.

Before you answer, ask yourself:

“If I weren’t trying to get rid of this feeling, what else would I consider?”

Your capacity. Your commitments. The facts. What Scripture teaches. The counsel of someone you trust.

Feeling anxious doesn’t automatically make a decision wrong. Feeling relieved doesn’t automatically make it right.

James 1:5 invites us to ask God for wisdom. You can ask while your feelings are still unsettled.

Where there is room to pause, give yourself time. “Let me think about that and come back to you” is a response you’re allowed to give.

Your feelings deserve attention. You can listen without handing them the final decision. 🕊

You cannot argue a wound into feeling safe.

You can believe God loves you and still brace for rejection. You can trust His goodness and find receiving care difficult.

Experiences teach us what to expect from relationships. Those expectations can remain long after we begin to understand love differently.

That deserves attention and kindness. There is room to explore what you learned, acknowledge what hurt and receive support as you learn another way.

You can bring that whole experience into your relationship with God. You do not have to hide the gap between what you know and what you feel.

His love includes you while you are still learning to receive it. 💛

Salt on the breeze. Sunlight catching the water. The soft wash of waves along the shore.

A simple moment of just being there with Basil who only thrives with this kind of activity.

We can stop thriving just by not doing the things that fill us with real excitement.

I just have to show Basil a ball or a stick and his eyes light up!

What would light you up today?

You know what needs doing.
Do you know what you need?

When you look back over your week, what do you notice beyond everything you managed to get done?

Where did you feel present? What brought you joy? What took more out of you than you expected?

Sarah described her experience of Your Journey to Wholeness like this:

“I didn't realise how much I was just coping until this course. I feel calmer, clearer, and more confident in who I am in Christ.”

There is something powerful about recognising how you’ve been living and finding words for what you want to be different.

What would calmer, clearer and more confident look like in your everyday life?

Your answer matters. It gives you somewhere personal to begin.

You can value your responsibilities and make room to understand their impact on you. You can love giving and learn to receive. You can be grateful for your life and want to experience it more fully.

That is the space I want Your Journey to Wholeness to offer: time to explore what shapes your responses, deepen your understanding and put what you’re learning into practice.

As we abide in Christ, we can bring our actual lives into that relationship. Our capacity. Our questions. Our desires. The things we’ve struggled to say aloud.

You deserve a place in the care you give.

If Sarah’s words resonate, you’re welcome to explore the course curriculum through the link in my bio. Have a look and see whether it feels like a helpful next step for you.

You can finish the week knowing what you accomplished.
Can you remember what you enjoyed?

What held your attention because you wanted to be there?

If it’s difficult to answer, that deserves your curiosity.

What would you like more room for? What part of your life keeps getting postponed until everything else is finished?

Jesus speaks about joy within His teaching on abiding in John 15. Joy belongs in our relationship with Him and in the lives we bring to Him.

You can take your responsibilities seriously and make room to enjoy being alive.

A life with meaning can also have laughter, pleasure, connection and rest. Those are worth noticing when they’re missing, and welcoming when they come.

It feels urgent.
Does that mean you need to act?

When a decision presses on you, what are you listening to?

The facts in front of you? The possibility of disappointing someone? The fear of missing God?

Those questions deserve space.

Anxiety can make uncertainty feel difficult to tolerate. A quick yes, a sudden withdrawal or another request for reassurance can promise relief. But relief alone cannot tell you whether the decision is wise.

And feeling anxious does not mean you’ve failed to hear God.

An honest conversation can make your heart race. A healthy boundary can feel uncomfortable. A new responsibility can stretch you.

Discernment involves examining what you’re responding to, bringing it before God and considering Scripture, evidence and trustworthy counsel.

James 1:5 invites us to ask God for wisdom. You can ask while you’re uncertain. You can remain close to Jesus while you work through what you feel.

Where there is no immediate danger or genuine deadline, there is room to pause.

You don’t have to shame the feeling.
You can give it attention without handing it the final decision.

Save this for a moment when urgency makes it difficult to think clearly.

You can be someone others count on.
And someone who needs care too.

When someone offers to help, can you let them?

If receiving feels unfamiliar, there is room to learn.

Think about the people you love supporting. Do you think less of them for needing you? Or are you glad they trusted you enough to ask?

You’re allowed to offer someone that same opportunity to care for you.

Galatians 6:2 invites us to bear one another’s burdens. You belong in that “one another.” Your needs have a place in the relationships you give so much to.

You can start small with someone trustworthy. An honest answer. A specific request. A simple, “Thank you. That would really help.”

Being supported can give you room to breathe, enjoy your relationships and discover that you are valued beyond what you do for everyone.

You bring more to a relationship than your usefulness.
Your presence matters too.

Being dependable is a strength.
Does it leave room for you to need anything?

When someone asks how you are, do you answer honestly? Or find yourself reassuring them before you’ve even considered the question?

You can become so familiar with being the person who helps that receiving care feels strangely uncomfortable.

“I don’t want to burden anyone.”
“They have enough going on.”
“I should be able to handle this.”

What do those sentences ask you to carry alone?

One question worth exploring in the counselling room is what being “the strong one” has come to mean. Does it mean you have capacity to give? Or that you feel you’re never allowed to run out?

Your strength deserves support too.

Galatians 6:2 calls us to bear one another’s burdens. There is room in that “one another” for yours.

You can be faithful and tired. Experienced and unsure. Someone who offers wisdom and someone who needs a listening ear.

Jesus’ invitation to abide in Him gives us a place to receive. We were created to live through connection, and that includes learning to accept care from trustworthy people.

You don’t have to wait until everything falls apart to say, “I could use some help with this.”

Which comes more naturally to you: offering support or receiving it?

You’ve spent years believing lies about yourself.
It's time to question them.

Those beliefs can quietly decide how much you ask for, what you tolerate and whether you let anyone close. Naming them gives you somewhere to begin.

And you don’t have to work through every question alone.

There is something encouraging about hearing someone else put words to a struggle you thought was only yours. Being met with understanding. Having company as you practise a clearer boundary, make a difficult decision or try a different response.

That’s the heart behind my Transformational Community on Skool.

A place to learn with me, receive support and grow alongside others who are taking their own steps towards wholeness. Somewhere to ask questions, share at your own pace and celebrate the progress you would have brushed aside on your own.

There’s room for laughter too. Deep work and joy belong in the same life.

As we remain close to Jesus, we can encourage one another to put truth into practice. One honest conversation. One fresh insight. One step at a time.

If you’d like some company on the journey, take a look at my Transformational Community on Skool through the link in my bio. See whether it feels like a good place for you to begin.

I’d love to see you there. Let’s go on this journey together.
