Stress and mental exhaustion are real, and they can show up in the form of chronic fatigue, irritability, lack of motivation, and difficulty remembering things.
Pilates requires intense focus on body awareness and breath control, which can break cycles of repetitive overthinking that often accompany burnout.
Here’s how it helps:
With focused breathing and tension-releasing movement, Pilates helps to reduce cortisol (stress hormone) and increase endorphins (happy hormones).
Pilates forces you to focus on the movement in your body - how your muscles are working and the sensations that come along with it. This creates space for you to let go of the thoughts crowding your mind, which in turn helps clear your mind.
Pilates builds physical strength and energy without draining you further.
Mindful Pilates Studio is a safe space for you to unwind, relax, and improve your overall well-being.
If any of this resonates with you, why not join a class?

Any exercise programme works best when they begin with a proper understanding of the body they are designed for.
At Mindful Pilates, our private one-to-one sessions give your instructor the time and focus to assess how you move, understand your history and build a programme that is specific to your needs.
For clients managing an injury, condition or rehabilitation need, those at any stage of pre or postnatal recovery, or anyone working towards a specific goal, a private session is the most effective place to begin.

Pilates is having a moment, you've probably noticed.
New studios opening everywhere, debates about which style is 'best', classes being offered in places that didn't exist six months ago, and it's brilliant that more people are finding their way to the reformer and learning about the method.
But in the middle of all that noise, we wanted to remind you what we've always stood for and what we'll never budge on:
1) Our teachers are all properly qualified. They've completed accredited courses, completed their practice hours and understand how to work with individual bodies. Bodies with injuries, post-surgical bodies, bodies that haven't exercised in years, bodies managing chronic pain. They didn't just learn the movements; they learned how to teach them safely to everyone.
2) Our classes stay small, just five people. That way, we know your health history, we know your unique aches and pains, your dog's name and where you went on your last trip. We can also then modify the classes for the people booked in; we can offer alternatives to the clients with shoulder pain or those who can't do that one movement. That's not possible in a room of twenty.
3) We're building a community, not just taking bookings. The community that has grown inside this studio is one of our favourite things about it. People who care for each other, who notice when someone hasn't been in for a while, who've become friends over a shared love of Pilates and the occasional groan on the long box. We check in on our clients. We remember what you're working through or what goals you have.
So with all the noise in the industry, remember, we are going to continue to do what we do best and create a community that is welcoming for all.

We got this review recently, and it's something we think everyone should read.
After a fall, most people would have scaled back, but this client did the opposite; she walked through our door for the first time at 84 and experienced the benefits of Pilates first-hand.
She's been coming to Claudia twice a week ever since. Building strength, feeling steadier, getting more out of her body than she did before the fall.
We never tire of stories like this one. Because this is exactly who Pilates is for, not just the young, the fit or the already strong. It's for anyone who wants to feel better in their body than they did yesterday.
If someone in your life has been putting it off, whether that's because of age, an injury, or just not knowing where to start, send this to them.
Our door is always open.

3 in 100 people have scoliosis, but most don't know what to do about it.
If you've been diagnosed with scoliosis — or suspect you might have it — this one's for you.
Swipe through to understand what scoliosis actually is, what it means for your body, why Pilates works so well for managing it, and what the research says about tailored exercise.
What makes us a little different — our founder, Claudia, has completed the Scoliosis and Spinal Conditions Master Course and Naoka, one of our other instructors, also holds a certificate in Pilates for Scoliosis. Between them, they've worked with clients at every stage — from mild curves to more complex spinal conditions that needed a completely individual approach.
If you've been looking for someone who understands your body, that's exactly what we're here for.
