Penalty shoot out drama for Meden Vale Colts at the weekend... everyone involved in the team can take great pride in the strides forward they're taking... the team spirit is unbelievable!
Good luck to all the Meden Vale teams for the coming season.
REAL TROOPER - despite the hangover he kept going
A proper friday night thriller!!! is exactly what we witnessed here on the 3rd of decemeber.... An exciting match up to say the least and we can see why meden vale took 3 points from radcliffe olympic last week.

High paced back and fourth counters was the tone for the majority of the first half, Aggressivly intercepting one another - both teams wanting to assert their dominance over the field. Around the mark of 42mintues it was West Bridgford who laid claim to the 1st victory.

After a very impressive premier last week in that mighty storm, Bradley CHUKWU was welcomed onto the pitch for his league debut. up on his toes, storming down the wing over and over again - having his ankle's verociously taken from him time and time again. Undetered he kept up this pace until, well...what some would say in the trade as a foul! Legs gone - ball a drift it was our one and only No.8 Shea GOUGH to come beating through the center field and power the ball along the floor; past 6 of the opposition and thier ilustrious keeper who up untill now was putting on a mighty performance.

Half time, A team talk or two and a moments breather.... Meden Vale switch up the gears! - with a very dangerous interception came oppertunity for Meden Vale to realign the game in thier favour... Taking up the ball running - No.09 swept toward the goal line - off handed the ball to the back up on his right flank, who then took a stab at goal, Although our No.01 George SANSOM got his foot to the ball it did unfortunatly flick over the top into the corner to bring Meden Vale level pegged. 1-1.

Next.. well im unsure i can evan do this part justice.... I guess we will start with the skipper, He may be the oldest of our player's but he's certainly the most wise with the keenest of eyes.... .Ffrom center field he see's our No.03 making tracks down the wing... With a mighty left that will most likly never been seen again the skipper HOOFED the ball over to our man on the wing.... Target aquired, Trajectory locked - Coming in hot, Caught on the bounce - Another almighty left hoof crossed into the danger area from our No.03 Imoleoluwa - Head in the air was jerome!!!!!!!!! who gave the ball a beauty of a glasgow kiss!!! nan-night Meden Vale!

Concluding our game and securing West Bridgford AFC' no.2 spot in the league this week.

Fantastic evening of football! Our Under 6鈥檚 group played in their first training match and it was goals galore! Some great strikes, fab team play and strong tackles! Very bright future for this group!

Well done to Nolan and Lawrence for being the Player of the Sessions for each of their respective sides!

Congratulations to our Youth and Senior Teams that between them earned 4 victories, 3 draws and just 1 defeat, as well as a hatfull of goals and impressive unbeaten streaks continuing!

The weekend kicked off with our U14's travelling to Notthingham Hockey Centre and returning with all 3 points, Leyland Pearson on the scoresheet and Man of the Match, whilst our U12 Saturday team secured another 3 points that puts them in touching distance of their first league title since joining the club this summer!

Our Men's First Team kept the defence firmly shut this week and claimed a point in a 0-0 home draw, with our Men's Sunday Team the following day pulling back from a 4-1 deficit to share the spoils after 90 minutes at 4-4. Our U12's Sundays also claimed a point which put the first notch in the table for this season in the YEL Top Flight after a tough but competitive start to the campaign.

Our U12 Reds and U13's both strode to 3 more points in transformational years for each in new leagues, whilst our Vets team unfortunately limped out of the cup losing 5-2 at home.

All in all, another progressive and positive weekend of action for the Mighty Vale!!

Congratulations to our stars of our Junior Team of the Week!! A great weekend of action culminated in our U10's Golds claiming the Sheffield & District Junior League October Cup for the second successive year!!

There were also a range of fantastic results and team performances across the section and those that featured are joined by the stars of our Mini Colts session this week, with Nolan Tuck sharing the spotlight with his brother Rylee of the U9 Greens!

More memories made out on the pitches this weekend!

Congratulations to all of those that made our Girls & Ladies Team of the Week after a fantastic weekend of action that saw our Under 8's Girls claim their first ever win!!! Our Under 9's and Under 11/12 Girls also claimed victories in their Cup 1st Round games, whilst our Ladies Senior Team were narrowly beaten 2-0 at home to Sherwood Ladies FC.

Brilliant effort all round from our girls!!

Just to round off on our family-themed thread earlier this week, this incredible family story needs telling from todays games.

3 siblings, 3 matches, 3 different venues, 3 wins for their respective teams, and all 3 scored for their teams!!

First up, Dolly, twin to Billy. Her Under 9鈥檚 Girls faced West Bridgford Colts in the first round of the Cup and came home with a 6-4 win, with Dolly scoring her first ever goal for the team!!

Then it was off to the Clipstone Lido ground where younger brother Bobby was ready to represent the Under 7鈥檚 Golds, scoring in another 6-4 thriller!!

Finally, Billy headed to Samworth Academy where his Under 9鈥檚 Greens, also hit 6 in a 6-1 win with Billy scoring a brace!!

Incredible effort by the Barber family! Well done to each of them and their respective teams!!

Looking at our member list, including coaches and players, it鈥檚 incredible to see so many people from the same family, whether siblings playing for the same / different teams, parent-child relationships as you see plenty of in grassroots, and those where there are multiple members of the same family involved in the club at some level.

We鈥檇 love to see photos of our football families! Share your shots below to celebrate the spirit of grassroots!!

Today is World Mental Health Day. It鈥檚 Ok to not be OK. Everyone has someone that cares. Don鈥檛 be afraid to speak out. Here are some resources to help.

It was a fantastic weekend for our Girls Teams, with our Under 8's gaining more match experience in their maiden campaign, our U9's secured a great 2-0 home win, and our combined U11's and U12's picked up their first win of the season in a fantastic 6-0 win away at Burton Joyce.

There were no fixture for our Ladies team this time around but our new combined U13/14 team, also playing their first year, fought hard and well before succombing to a close 4-1 defeat, even holding their opposition to a 1-1 half time scoreline.

It's great to see the girls side of the club continuing to blossom, with continued interest in joining right from the younger age groups, in our Mini Colts session, up to our Senior Ladies side.

There are spaces remaining at almost all age groups on the Girls and Ladies side so please do contact us if interested in coming along and being a part of our fantastic story!

A tough week at the top for some of our teams in our Youth and Senior section, as our Men's First Team & Reserves both exited their respective County Cups following defeats over 90 minutes, and our Men's Sunday team had a game to forget, slipping to a 4-2 loss at neighbours Langwith White Star United. Our U14's also couldn't overcome their league leaders.

However, our U16's romped to a double-digit win, as did our U12's Saturdays and U12 Reds, the former having had a week off and getting back to it in style. There were also positive results for our U12 Golds, U13's and U15's.

Our Men's Vets also travelled to Alfreton and brought home their first 3 points of the campaign, owed to a strong defensive performance by Lee Dawson and Rich Fallon, who were both named in our Youth & Senior Mens Team of the Week.

Well done to all those that feature this week!

This week had everything you look for at grassroots, with closely contested, sporting games, exciting derby's and cup wins!

All 10 of our teams at the junior section competed with 6 of them securing victories and 4 of them going down to narrow defeats. The highlight at this area of the club has to go to our Under 10 Gold's who progress for the second time running to the Cup Final for their age group. They've had a remarkably strong start to the campaign and are so far undefeated with a 100% record to boot. We look forward to the outcome of their cup final next week.

At U9's our Gold and Green teams faced each other in what is becoming an evenly matched affair, with the Greens taking the spoils on this occasion.

Our U11's continued their fine start to the season too, getting over last week's defeat quickly and back on the winning trail, whilst our U9's picke dup their first win of 2023-24.

A win and a defeat at U7 & U8 and another convincing result for our U10's wrapped up a strong weekend for our youngsters.

Well done to all those that make our Junior Team of the Week, including the Stars of our two Mini Colts sessions, Lawrence & Edward!

The future is bright!!

Sooo proud of this fab bunch of stars today! Not really got going this season yet, most (7 of these 10) are playing up a year and came into this mornings game with 4 defeats from 4 but all put everything into their performance today. Ran out 6-0 winners and I could not be more proud of them. Loved being on that touchline once more! 馃挌馃枻鈿斤笍 Meden Vale Colts FC Girls & Ladies

Congratulations to all that feature in our TOTW after 20 of our sides featured over the past 48 hours, putting in some top drawer performances and representing the club in the highest order.

5 of our Girls sides ran out wearing the green (unless in goal!) and are joined by our Mini Colts trainer of the week, Fallon! Well done to Annabelle (U8), Martha & Dolly (U9), Katelyn (U10), Olivia & Millie (U11/12), and Trinity & Scarlett (U13/14). A win, a draw and 3 lessons were the order of the day!

In our Junior section, all teams faced action and those named as Man of the Matches are joined by Dominic and Parker from our two Mini Colts session delivered this week. Across the 11 games played, there were wins for 3 teams, draws for 3, and well fought contests but defeats in the remaining 5. All players can be proud of their efforts, no matter the result!

And finally, in our Youth & Senior section, only 5 teams were involved, but between them mustered a 100% win record across all games, scoring 29 goals! On Saturday, our Men's Reserves earned a 3-2 win away at Pegasus, our U15's went away to Retford and brought a 5-0 win and 3 points back, whilst our U14's battled hard to a 5-4 victory! This morning, they were joined by our U16's (7-3 winners) and U12 Reds (9-0 victors!)

Thanks to everyone that supported the PlaySafe campaign, sported the pin badges or captains armbands, and overall made for a fun and enjoyable weekend for all!

Perfect evening for our Mini Colts to enjoy an ice cream, a run around in the sprinkler and to receive their fantastic new training tops. It was a brilliant evening and I鈥檓 sure just what the little ones needed after a return to school this week!

Feel free to share any pics you have that aren鈥檛 shown here.

We're delighted to have so many Girls & Ladies represent the club (as we are boys and men) and we start the campaign with 7 teams that span 9 age categories, and a couple of training groups including our Mini Colts for girls.

Not all took to the field this weekend as their seasons get underway next Sunday but for those that did it was a great start. Our Under 9's Girls put in a tremendous winning performance, whilst our new combined U13/14's team showed lots of spirit and improvement in their first ever league game.

Our Under 10's Girls competed well in the heat away in Woolaton with a reduced squad where all girls gave 100% for each other.

Congratulations to all that mad eour Girls & Ladies Team of the Week for the opening weekend of 2023-24! Wishing everybody an enjoyable and memorable year!

In our Youth & Senior section, there were some strong performances as teams aimed to start the season in the best possible way. Whilst all were not able to claim maximum points in their games, some top drawer performances were put in by the players.

Great to see our U12's Reds start life in the Sheffield League with a win, whilst our new U12's Gold team played their first game coming out with a credible 1-1 draw. There were wins also for our U12's Saturday side and U13's, in their first YEL matches for the club.

A spirited comeback by our Men's first team from 4-1 down to 4-3 but they couldn't find that additional goal that would've seen the points shared, whilst our new Reserves side made it 5 wins from 5 at home to Ravenshead Reds.

Improvements were noticeable under new management for our Under 14's, whilst both our Under 15's and 16's lost starting centre backs through broken wrists - we wish both Addison Bettridge and Archie Thomas all the best in their recoveries.

A 6-1 stomping of Bull Farm United gave our Men's Sunday team a dream start to life back in the Mansfield Sunday League.

We go again next weekend!

What a fantastic start to the new season it was this past weekend! It was great to hear all the stories about the games and results as they came through in our community chat. All the hard work and preperation that has gone in over the summer was clear for all to see. Well done to all coaches and players that took this weekend by storm.

Introducing our new look team of the week format, where each team is represented, whether they've played a game or not. We've also included our Mini Colts members who earn the trainer of the week certificate! Well done to William Moore for being our first boy from the group to earn this!

Of the 9 teams that featured over this past weekend in our Junior section, there were fantastic wins for 7 of them, and a draw (that took a last kick of the game to prevent the win!). Brilliant effort all round!

It's great to be back!!

What an amazing day!! 100% attendance from teams, which is what you hope for. Some great football played, and all in great spirits. Thanks to all that came and supported or participated. Extended thanks to all visiting teams and also the referees and other supporting roles.

Best of luck to our Men鈥檚 First Team who play their final game of the season at 3pm this afternoon. They face league runners-up Beeston knowing a 7th-placed finish has already been secured.

This marks a fantastic campaign by Jason Gill鈥檚 squad and an improvement on a 9th placed finish last season, and 10th the season before. The constant improvement is there for all to see and given the injuries faced this year is also testament to the contribution and commitment of the lads.

We are already looking forward to next season! Best of luck today lads!

We are looking to recruit to our fantastic kitchen and ground teams to ensure we can continue to offer a fantastic service to our teams, players and members.
