The lads finally got back on the pitch today for the first time since the 20th October 🤯A trip to Boro Rangers Boys was on the menu and the run of bad luck continued before we even kicked a ball in anger. With long-term injuries, longest suspension in football history and illness hitting the lads, we lined up with only 10 players. But in true Riverside style, the boys were absolutely incredible, worked as a team and showed great maturity. Well done to Boro Rangers who were great opponents in what turned out to be a close game with Riverside just losing out 2-1. However, Wardy and Ste couldn’t have been prouder. So Sunday saw the lads welcome Marton Royals to Redcar college for a late morning Kick-off with the bare 11 again in terrible windy conditions 🌬️ All the lads however just cracked on and it was very much the old cliche of “a game of two halves” with everything ending all square at 1-1. Game was played in good spirits and will look forward to the return fixture. The Econ Engineering Midas Cladding Riverside FC lined up as follows:

The Riverside lads were back in action yesterday in the North Riding County Cup vs Nunthorpe, the lads very much starting where they left off the week before.

Despite the depleted squad after 2 departures at beginning of the week and an unsuccessful appeal against Rocco’s controversial 🔴, all 11 lads contributed to a ruthless but mature performance against a battling Nunthorpe side who we wish the very best to for the rest of the season. Thanks to Econ Engineering and Midas Cladding for the continued support and sponsorship, lads done you proud. Riverside Juniors through to the next round of the league cup after beating Darlington.

At full time it was 1-1 (Riverside goal from Tyler Watts on his Riverside debut) and so hearts were in mouths for penalties.

The Riverside boys who are sponsored by Econ Engineering and Midas Cladding came through 4-3.

Respect and thank you for the match to Darlington. It’s a rotten way to lose.

We also had a league match mid weeks v our friends at Riverside Juniors Blues. 2-2 at full time on that one.

We’ve had enough of drawing matches now lads; let’s have a win next week!

All even in our match on Sunday following a physical, feisty game which saw the boys who are sponsored by Econ Engineering and Midas Cladding dig deep and show great resilience to come back from 2-1 down to bring home a point.

Sending get well wishes to midfielder Freddie who suffered a bad injury to his knee just before full time.

A promising start saw Riverside quickly take the lead from a superb free kick from Jack Knight

Marton responded well and took the lead going in at half time, 3-1 up.

The second half was fairly evenly matched with Marton scoring first and then a Ben Chance header from an excellent corner courtesy of Jack Gillett saw the game finish 4-2 to Marton.

We were unlucky to have not taken something from today; a great match between two highly competitive sides.

What was evident is that with a number of recent changes to the squad this team are showing promise and with hard work there is no reason why they can’t have a great season.

Congratulations to Jake Williams who has signed a 12 month registration for Newcastle United FC.

Jake has been coached by Wardy all of his footballing life and is one of the original Riverside boys.

I think a team trip to the toon to see you play is in order!

Everyone at Riverside Juniors is so proud of you Jake; we’ll certainly miss our big lad at the back but no one deserves this fantastic opportunity more.

Great little pre season friendly last night against a super Redcar and Cleveland District Football U14 squad.

After a slow start and going 1-0 down in the first 20 minutes, the team who are sponsored by Econ Engineering worked hard, weathered the storm and turned the game around.
