Penny Black FC 0 - 1 Coulby Newham FC

The last game of the season. It came down to this, with the season apparently already over in November, could Coulby do the impossible?!

First half nothing to write about. Coulby tried but final ball was lacking.

Half Time: 0-0

Second half the boys in blue had chances, hit the woodwork and a couple good keeper saves, it stayed 0-0.

Until…

Lucas Highfield latched onto a mistake driving into the box, foul!!! Ref blows his whistle and points to the spot.

This was it to secure Coulby the title and there was only one man for the job. Step up penalty merchant Louis White.
From 12 yards he sends the keeper the wrong way. Coulby lead with 10 to go!!

The lads held out till the final whistle and there it was full time 0-1.

Penny black gave us 2 hard games, good set of lads who we wish the best of luck to in their cup final.

Full Time: 0-1

What a set of lads, every single lad stepped up this season and it took all of us to make this happen!!

Last game of the Manjaros Langbaurgh League Division 1 season as we travel to Yarm to take on Penny Black Football Club for a final 90 minutes. The lads have worked hard all season and we know what we need to do to make that hard work worth while!

Coulby Newham FC 2 - 1 Penny Black FC

With two games left, the boys knew it was going to be a tough test on a hard pitch with the sun glaring in their eyes.

Coulby got off to the worst possible start by conceding in the first ten minutes. However, after the goal, Coulby started to get their act together.

It was 1-1 after 30 minutes when Coulby were awarded a penalty when Danny Boyle was fouled in the box. The norm resumed with Louis White putting the ball down from 12 yards and putting it in the net.

Coulby had more chances, but nothing was falling for them.

Half Time: 1-1

The second half looked like the Coulby of this season with chance after chance but still not falling, until a big booming shift from keeper Danny Sowerby found Danny Boyle over the top whose shot hit the post. Who was there to follow in, Coulby’s Rory McIlroy, ED BILTON!!!

The boys in blue defended resiliently till the end and had more chances. Shout out to 18-year-old winger Marcus Gordon who had a great game. But man of the match goes to striker Edward Bilton whose constant pressing and winner puts us joint with the league leaders with one to go.
