Look, full transparency, it's pretty wet and windy today 🤣.

BUT May half term gave us a little reminder of summer in Cornwall, and we can't help but start to get that buzz 🐝🤗!

Cornwall, and Watergate Bay in particular, has some real magic about it - whether the sun is shining ☀️ or those famous British showers are giving our gardens a good watering 🌧️.

The good thing about surfing in Newquay is it works in most weathers we experience during the summer months ☀️🌧️🌬️🌦️🌤️☁️.

You quickly forget about any rain when all you want to focus on is catch and riding your next wave 🏄.

Plus, if you are looking for things to do in Cornwall, there aren't many activities as fun as surfing to bring your group or family together.

Don't forget that we allow one child as young as 5 years old 🧒 to join our Family Surf Lesson too 😘!

Summer at Blue Surf School is shaping up to be a busy one, and we're looking to welcome a couple of new surf instructors to Blue over the holidays 🙌🏄☀️

I mean who WOULDN'T want to work alongside Ollie pictured above?

You'll need to have a valid surf and lifeguard qualification to work for us, and ideally have had at least a season of coaching under your belt.

Mainly though, we're interested in hiring the right type of person 🙋...

So if you're kind, empathetic, easy going, quick to laugh, put others first, and never take yourself too seriously... you'll do great here!

1. Meet Noah, age 6, an absolute legend! He came to Blue for the first time, at the start of the week and loved surfing so much, he ended up having 3 private lessons with ! He’s the first person we’ve seen to do the spilts on a surfboard in a wetsuit 😂 and made Seb this amazing card to say thank you! 🤩

2. ⁠Abel from Essex! Abel’s never had a surf lesson with us at Blue, but comes to Watergate Bay every year with his parents. He always pop to the green for a chat on his way the beach and this year painted Adam this amazing rock, which includes a Blue Surf School lesson in the water and the on the beach. 🏖️ 🎨

3. ⁠Today is .and.i.yoga birthday! She was so taken aback to receive all of these lovely gifts from gorgeous people who regularly attend her yoga classes! 😭💕

A sun filled, sandy, sweaty three days together at Blue Surf School ☀️🏄‍♂️

May Bank Holiday 2025: Our cloud filled, glittery, magical festival wedding weekend 🏕️💍

Let’s be clear ..being married and running a small business together DO NOT always go hand-in-hand 😅.

However, on weekends like this one, when everything aligns, we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else** 💙

Thank you to EVERYONE who came to Blue Surf this weekend to enjoy the best surf lessons in Watergate Bay 🏄‍♂️, hired our surfboards and wetsuits, stopped for a chit-chat 🗣️, honked their horns as they drove by 🚙, and wished us a happy anniversary 🎂.

We’ll say it again: It’s the people we meet (and the team we have) that makes Blue Surf School a special thing to be a part of 🫶.

We’re both off today and tomorrow to go camping at our wedding venue, BUT there’s plenty of sun, fun, and waves to be had down at Watergate Bay 🌊. You can expect a warm greeting from the devilishly handsome .1 who’s running the show 💁‍♂️.

**I lied btw, I’d rather have been surfing myself the last couple of days considering the conditions, but being at Blue was a close second 😉.

Seeing out the year sharing low wind, clean waves, and a bright winter's day surfing with friends 💙.
