Hello Plateau My Old Friend 👋

Progression and surf confidence are never linear, it’s a rollercoaster! 

It can feel so personal when frustration, comparison and intrusive thoughts start to creep in. But this is part of every surfer’s journey, something we all experience.

Over the years, I’ve learned how to manage these moments better, but those first plateaus were incredibly tough. I’d beat myself up, hearing that inner voice yelling:

“What's wrong with you?!”

“Look at them, why aren’t you surfing like that?!”

Sound familiar? 😅

This is normal.

What matters is recognising it and working through it, because it’s so easy to get stuck in that vortex of self-doubt.

Breaking through plateaus takes time and it’s important not to put a timeline on it.

Find that sweet spot where you’re giving yourself a little push, introducing new stimulus, but not forcing it too much.

Be gentle with yourselves legends and I’ll see you out there!
