AFC Hackleton

Fantastic weekend for both teams, and the true Acky way returns. Let’s get into it. Starting off with the 🅰️, Rob’s side took on Oakley Diamonds who last season were a league above and our toughest opponent yet this pre season. However, the lads took no attention to that and after a great first half with many young debutants we led 3-1 at the break. Shoutout to young winger Joe, who has moved up to the 🅰️ for the coming season, bagged himself a hat trick and was today’s man of the match. The boys carried on their momentum into the second half off with another 2 goals as the game ended 5-2

Onto the 🅱️’s now, and the lads hit the ground running and once again showed their class as we led 5-0 at the break and with only a few games left of pre season before the start of the Nene Cup the lads look sharp and prepared for the upcoming season. Well done to our goalscorers today Neaty, Joe, Jamie and new signings Sean, Shaun and Tommy finishing up the scorerers. The scoreline however doesn’t give BRS Reserves justice as it was a much closer game than it looked. Good luck to both Oakley Diamonds and BRS Reserves for the season UTM ⚫️⚪️

🅰️ travelled over to Blisworth this morning for their second pre season game, against Kings Heath who finished their 25/26 campaign in the top half of the league below. In the first half the lads played some good football at times but not enough as Kings Heath led 2-0 at the break. After a formation change and a firm talking to by the Gaffa, a much better second half followed as the game finished 3-2 to Kings Heath.

🅱️ Team hosted Glenvale Park reserves in a very close contest. Poor start from the lads as we enter the first hydration break a goal down after a quality free kick goal from Glenvale. The lads picked it up and we lead 3-1 at the half. The boys were the quickest off the mark going into the drinks break leading 6-1 however that didn’t last long as lack of drinks at the drinks break hit the dugout as no water could be supplied, and fitness levels depleting Glenvale sneak 3 back to finish off the game at 6-4.

With the success of last season a distant memory we are now ready to go again for the 26/27 season 🤍🖤

With friendly fixtures already locked in for both teams we will be back training down the Rec preparing for the season ahead!!

As always we are looking forward to welcoming our players back and would like to open the door for new players to come join us as we look to strengthen and build the squad and strive for further success to add to our clubs trophy count ⚽️🏆

As we approach the start of a new season we have some Admin to organise before we get going 📢 it’s the AGM and we would like to see if anyone who would like to join the committee or offer some help with fundraising ideas to get in touch as we are always looking for volunteers and fresh ideas that can help us progress in and around the club.
