Pilates teaches you how to organise and move your body in space.
It’s not about perfect posture. It’s understanding how to support yourself against gravity and load.
When we are deliberate with our alignment and breath, we optimise our movement.
Which brings clarity, ease and freedom.
A Classical Pilates class feels intentional and focused.
It will give you clarity and hopefully a huge sense of empowerment and inner strength.
Before discovering Classical Pilates I had been teaching and doing a version of Pilates for about 8 years (during dance college and then in my first Apprenticeship training and early years of teaching) which I truly loved, but I always felt like I was missing something. I didn’t know what that was or how to find it! (more on that another time…)
It is something we hear a lot, but doing Classical Pilates feels like you’re filling in the gaps and joining the dots! It makes so much sense. It’s honestly very simple once you delve into it but I’m still discovering new connections in my teaching and my own practice everyday. How cool is that!?

summer, feel good vibes in the studio this week.
Clients showing up for themselves, arriving with bunches of Asparagus 🥹💚 and leaving feeling strong. What more could we ask for?!

Heatwave Pilates 🔥 ft our hardest working team member - the air conditioning 💪
A belly full of iced latte, no leggings in sight and I had no energy but I’m feeling so disconnected from my body that I needed to do something.
Real Pilates. Taking the time to feel the springs in my body. No distractions, nothing fancy but hard work in the best possible way 🫶🏻
I’ve had a few people ask me recently when they ‘graduate’ from Pilates/Mat/Apparatus/Privates [insert variation]
and my answer…
you don’t! (sorry 🫶🏻)
Pilates is a system to be mastered over a lifetime. To progress and see results, you have to commit.
And the wonderful thing?
There is SO much to learn! 📖 it’s so much more than a workout to dip in and out off.
Pilates is so rich, it’s full of depth, details and connections. Which is impossible to master in a few sessions.

Big things happening at Pilates East so we’re keeping our head down, doing what we do best and quietly getting on 🫶🏻
into a Mixed Apparatus class at Pilates East - the Full Pilates Studio Experience.
Using all pieces of Apparatus including the Reformer, Cadillac, Towers, Wunda Chair, Barrels, Small props and Matwork.
Just 4 clients in a class, working around the studio.
There are no ‘levels’ for this class, it’s mixed ability, but clients do work more independently so experience in a 1:1 setting or in a Fundamental class are vital.
The teacher will decide on the day what Apparatus you are working on depending on what the bodies need. Sometimes, the class will stay together, other times everyone is working individually throughout the studio.
It is 100% tailored to you, in a group setting! What’s not to love 🫶🏻

Norwich has been voted the best place to live in the UK by The Sunday Times, but we already knew that 🫶🏻🥳
11 years ago, I (Lauren - studio owner) moved to Norwich after visiting for a day.
I grew up on the Hertfordshire/North London border, did all my schooling and dance college training in North and South London respectively, spent my teens and early 20’s auditioning, working and socialising in London, and I still and will always love London, but Norwich is home.
Putting family and business roots down in Norwich genuinely was the best decision I ever made. Bringing up my children in Norfolk is a joy. And owning a Norwich based business makes me so proud 🥳
I’ve defended Norwich on many occasions. People don’t always see its charm, which always baffles me. The history, beauty, friendliness, strong independent scene, local, familiar feel, incredible programme of cultural events are all truly amazing.
It’s great to see Norwich getting the recognition it deserves and we love being a tiny part of that!
