I know we are all Serious Martial Artists™ here, but if you don't spin your staff whilst training then you have no sense of whimsy, and I don't care to know you.

Today, we are talking about projection. This one is tricky, as the whole point is that it clouds your mind.

In brief, you subconciously see something in yourself that you don't like, so instead of acknowledging that, you deny it, but when you see someone acting in a way similar to you, you have an intense reaction. That is as indepth as you can get in a minute long reel.

Unfortunately, the people most susceptible to this are the people who avoid introspection. We see this a lot in the wellness industry, where spiritual bypassing is the norm.

I'm tempted to make a joke about how, as someone who isn’t spiritual in the traditional sense, I have transcended the need to worry about projection. But satire died a long time ago, and even as a joke that goes against my core values.

You should always be questioning yourself. You should always be checking your biases. If you aren’t, you are leaving yourself vulnerable to cognitive biases.
