Coming up….. SHOWING, SHOWJUMPING, COMBINED TRAINING AND DRESSAGE - Did you know about qualifiers at Cherwell?

This weekend at Cherwell we will be running our unaffiliated showjumping and the following weekend there will be dressage and Showing with in hand and ridden classes.

Therefore we thought this was a good time to remind everyone that all of our USJ events are qualifiers for Trailblazers, Cricklands and Sunshine Tour.

Our combined training and unaffiliated dressage are Trailblazer qualifiers and our Ridden and In hand Showing on 4 May willl be a qualifier for the Sunshine Tour.

There will also be a second round Trailblazer dressage qualifier on 2 May.

All dates until September are now on our website but more details about the qualifiers can be found using the relevant websites. Qualifying here makes sure you get to attend some really great multi day championship shows at some of the largest venues.

We hope you can make it this weekend and entries close for Saturday’s show on Friday at 9 am and don't forget the summer league has now started as well as the smaller 40 and 50 cm classes. Fabulous personalised rosettes are awarded to those placed in the league and if you would like more information then please contact us.

Meantime we loved looking back on some of the photos from some of our previous showing classes and Alison Parker Photography will be here to take some more great shots this summer.

Last but not least, Pam and Gemma will also look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse for some paninis and hot chocolate!

Happy New Year from Cherwell

After a two week break and very quiet time here at Cherwell we are ready to start the new year with our unaffiliated showjumping starting this Sunday 11 January. Unfortunately due to a tractor breakdown needing parts on order we had to postpone our area hire and unaffiliated SJ at the end of December but now we are back fully operational from the end of this week and ready to welcome everyone back for a great year of events in 2026.

Due to holiday delay events are currently being put on My Riding Life and should be online at some point tomorrow for entries.

Our unaffiliated events will be qualifiers for Trailblazers and Cricklands where applicable and we are also waiting for confirmation from Sunshine Tour as to our registration for 2026 so please watch out for further details.

Events for Jan and Feb can be found on our calendar and are also listed below. We hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and look forward to seeing you here. As always the clubhouse will be open for snacks and drinks.

CLEAR ROUND TOMORROW

Thank you to everyone that has entered for the Clear Round tomorrow. We will be closing entries at 12.15 today so there is still time to enter. If you haven't quite decided, the weather forecast looks good and the dress code will be smart or casual - whichever you prefer. Relaxed, friendly atmosphere for any nervous riders or horses and no rush to finish your round.

Full times will be out by 1.30 pm but we will be starting at 10 am with a finish time of around 2 pm.

This Sunday is Clear Round Jumping at Cherwell. Don't miss the opportunity to get one of these lovely four tier rosettes on a first come first served basis! Entries now open online via MRL. We start at 40 cm and will go up to 1.10 m. Look forward to seeing you here. Any queries please contact - [email protected]

This weekend we are running Combined Training and entries are open until Saturday at 9 am. The schedule starts at intro and 60 cm going up to Novice and 1 m course. If you haven't done any combined training then why not give it a try? It is all very low-key and friendly. We aim to support anyone that is nervous or not too sure. It's also an ideal event for any of your young horses.

We had a super time at last Sunday's unaffiliated showjumping. Thanks to all those that supported us. We just love this photo of that really captured the atmosphere. Thanks to Alison Parker Photography Alison will be on site again this weekend taking more so don't forget to go and view the photos at her trailer.

Entries Closing soon - Unaffiliated Showjumping Sunday 31 August

We have lots of these lovely rosettes up for grabs on Sunday so if you think one would look good in your lorry or tack room then make sure you don't miss out. Rosettes in all classes to 6th.

Cherwell Update - Arena Hires September and Fixtures

As we move into Autumn we are looking towards our events for the season and have a full calendar with something for everyone.

These include.......
Clear Round jumping dates
Regular long and short arena hire with boards - Starting this Thursday
Showjumping arena hire with a full course of jumps including water tray, doubles and combination
Weekend arena and dressage board hire mostly Saturdays.
Blenheim weekend dressage boards and SJ arena for hire
Unaffiliated league showjumping
Combined Training
BD and Unaffiliated Dressage

As we move into 2026 there will also be combined training with BE tests

We hope you can continue to support us here at Cherwell and we have now posted all of our arena hire for September as well as all of our events through to December. All of these dates will be available to enter through the usual channels later this week but dates in the next few weeks are available to enter now!

IN HAND AND RIDDEN SHOWING 24TH MAY

The in hand entries have closed and the numbers in each class will be posted on our website where it says Times and Results today. The classes will start at 9 a.m. and follow on. Please be aware of the number of entries in the classes before you and arrive in plenty of time to avoid missing your class.

The ridden entries will start at 1.30 p.m. and late entries for these classes will be taken. If you would like to come please phone 07974 151272. Please also be aware of the number of entries in the classes before you.

There will be a championship for the in hand entries and also one for the riddens.

Our clubhouse is open offering food and drink and we look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow.
