There is nothing we love more than getting to know our competitors, both human and four legged.

Polly and her very handsome 8 year old Gelding - Alice of Clooneen (Stable name: Storm) took the lead to win the 90cm class on Sunday 26th July.

Having only been partnered together since January this year, they are going from strength to strength, learning together as they enjoy the successes dedication brings.

Often seen representing her school and taking an active part in the NSEA team. She’s looking forward to going to Hickstead with Storm in August for the school Championships.

Polly loaned her first pony at the age of 7 and has been obsessed with horses ever since!!

Pollys no1 groom/coach/mother Joanna said "We love coming to Cherwell as it’s only half an hour down the road, the arena is amazing and the courses are always fun to jump".

We look forward to following these two as they progress, with Polly hoping to start her BS journey soon!

What a fantastic day we had at the Cherwell Competition Centre Clear Round Jumping on Saturday 18th July 2026!

Starting at 40cm and working our way upto 110cm throughout the day, we welcomed competitors of all ages and abilities.

It was wonderful to see so many riders enjoying themselves and with the sun shining, everyone had clearly made an extra special effort—every horse looked beautifully turned out, glossy, and ready to shine!

SUNDAYS SHOWJUMPING AT CHERWELL - 28 JUNE

We hope everyone isn’t struggling too much in the current heatwave but by Sunday things are meant to cool down. The forecast shows top temperature of 23 degrees, light rain and a moderate breeze of 13 - 15 mph. Therefore we have decided to leave our entries open until 12 noon tomorrow. If you are planning on entering please do so as soon as possible as we need entries to run. Don’t forget that this is the last chance to qualify for Trailblazer second rounds.

Coming up….. SHOWING, SHOWJUMPING, COMBINED TRAINING AND DRESSAGE - Did you know about qualifiers at Cherwell?

This weekend at Cherwell we will be running our unaffiliated showjumping and the following weekend there will be dressage and Showing with in hand and ridden classes.

Therefore we thought this was a good time to remind everyone that all of our USJ events are qualifiers for Trailblazers, Cricklands and Sunshine Tour.

Our combined training and unaffiliated dressage are Trailblazer qualifiers and our Ridden and In hand Showing on 4 May willl be a qualifier for the Sunshine Tour.

There will also be a second round Trailblazer dressage qualifier on 2 May.

All dates until September are now on our website but more details about the qualifiers can be found using the relevant websites. Qualifying here makes sure you get to attend some really great multi day championship shows at some of the largest venues.

We hope you can make it this weekend and entries close for Saturday’s show on Friday at 9 am and don't forget the summer league has now started as well as the smaller 40 and 50 cm classes. Fabulous personalised rosettes are awarded to those placed in the league and if you would like more information then please contact us.

Meantime we loved looking back on some of the photos from some of our previous showing classes and Alison Parker Photography will be here to take some more great shots this summer.

Last but not least, Pam and Gemma will also look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse for some paninis and hot chocolate!
