Woggle Goggle Swimming Pool and Activity Centre

🥳 The end….and we couldn’t be more proud.
What an adventure, what an achievement, what a remarkable thing to do. To walk over 75 miles to raise awareness and money for a local charity, Hearts United is incredible.

Sadly, 12 young people aged 14–35 die every week in the UK from undiagnosed heart conditions. The charity has now screened 1,404 young people and 104 have been referred for further investigation. One of these was Roald. Our son. of those have needed heart surgery, which has potentially saved their lives. Roald’s friend needs surgery. Daunting for all involved but also relief that the screening is doing exactly what it’s set out to do. Preventing young adults from losing their life to an undiagnosed heart condition. 💕

So as tough as it’s been for them , with the miles, weather, tiredness and lack of sleep, severe blister’s and nail, foot issues 🥴 they’ve done it for something that really does make a difference.

This journey for the 8 local fellas involved has been immense and one I’m certain they will never forget. Building strength, resilience and character but also growth. This journey for such a good cause has been another step on the ladder to being a young adult and they have absolutely smashed it. 💪💙

24 miles in the bag.

I’m not 100% certain they were aware how tough this challenge in reality was going to be but they sure do now. I’ve left the foot pictures off 🥴😅

What I am certain of, is this group of lads are strong, tough and won’t be beaten. Day 2 they took an absolute pounding with solid rain set in for their day of hiking, with food and sleep they woke determined to crack on 💪

And that they have….let day 4 commence and see these lads through to the end of their incredible challenge.

💙🥾 8 Local Boys. 75 Miles. 4 Days. One Incredible Cause. ❤️

Next week, eight determined local boys, who are only 15 years old – Eddie, Alex, Freddie, Sammy, Cole, Roald, Harry and Coby – will take on the incredible challenge of walking the 75-mile Cumbria Way from Ulverston to Carlisle in just 4 days. ⛰️🚶

They’re doing it to raise funds for Hearts United ❤️ – an amazing local charity that provides free cardiac screening for young people and delivers CPR & defibrillator training, helping to save lives across our community.

We’re especially proud that Roald, who many of you will know from Woggle Goggle Swimming Pool and Activity Centre is one of the boys taking on this challenge. We know they’ll all give it absolutely everything, and everyone at Woggle Goggle will be cheering them on every step of the way! 💙👏

We’re Hiring-

💦 Swimming Lesson Assistant / Poolside Helper (Trainee Swim Teacher)

Join the Woggle Goggle team in a varied, in-water and poolside role, with the opportunity to train and progress into a fully qualified Swimming Teacher.

You’ll be in the water alongside Senior Instructors, assisting with lessons and learning how sessions are delivered, while also supporting fun sessions, pool parties, and activities poolside.

Flexible shifts and hours depending on availability

✔ In-water role supporting swimming lessons
✔ Poolside helper duties (fun sessions & pool parties)
✔ Work towards multiple industry qualifications — all fully funded
✔ Mainly weekday evenings, weekends and some weekday daytime hours (school holidays)

👉 Strong swimmers only — swim test required
👉 Minimum age: 15, — no experience needed just a love for swimming
👉 Experience of working with young children desirable

We offer a structured pathway including Swimming Teacher, Lifeguard, First Aid, and pool safety qualifications, with clear progression and ongoing support from experienced instructors.

Real opportunity to build personal skills and gain recognised qualifications.
