Results from the week!

Excellent victory for the 1st XI who played top of the table Heysham CC at Tynefield Park. Great effort from all the bowlers to restrict our opponents to just 179 from 45 overs. In reply the chase got off to a shaky start at 28/3 but the nerves were soon settled by no.4 Greg Cameron and no.5 Sam Sharp who’s excellent 4th wicket partnership of 153 saw the 1sts run out victorious by 7 wickets. Season best scores for both Sam Sharp (83*) and Greg Cameron (58*).

Defeat for the 2nd XI who couldn’t extend their lead at the top of the table and fell to a 55 run loss at now table toppers Trimpell CC. The bowlers did well to keep Trimpell to 157 but unfortunately the batting didn’t fire this time. This result means the 2nds go into 2nd place by 1 point but still with a game in hand.

The 3rd XI season concluded on Tuesday night with a loss to a strong Lanercost side. In a game reduced to 20 overs a side, Penrith were bowled out for 104 in just over 18 overs. The chase was a convincing one and Lanercost reached the target in 12.5 overs with 6 wickets to spare. The 3rds finish the season in 2nd place which is a great effort from all the lads involved.

National Chopper Club

Following a storming set last year, Ben from The Dead Religion will be performing a solo set early afternoon on Saturday 12th Sept. Playing songs by The Dead Religion & other original material. Congratulations and all the best to George Willan and Sam Sharp who have both been selected for the final NCCA Championship 3 day fixture vs Lincolnshire.

Great moment and phenomenal achievement for George who is making his full county debut!

The game will start tomorrow 11am at Cleethorpes CC.
