One of the fastest growing team sports in the UK - Cornish Pilot Gig Racing combines traditional handmade wooden rowing boats with a crew of 7, variable sea conditions and race courses combining tight turns to create an additive sport

The final day saw the final 2 "short" races for our ladies and mens crews and yet more hot, sweaty, close racing 🥵

Ladies Open: Group D, 4th
Mens Open: Group B, 5th

Our Ladies and Mens Vets crews powered through their respective final races of the competition, picking up some excellent results along the way 💪
Ladies Vets A: 6th in group A
Ladies Vets B: 8th in group B
Mens Vets: 4th in group B
Then it was the turn of the Senior competition, with our crews placed as follows after the long race:
Ladies Open: 28th (group C)
Mens Open: 12th (group B)

Our ladies super vets finished their racing with a brilliant 6th place overall 🎉
Once the Super Vets finished it was time for our 3 Vets crews to start their racing.. Standings after race 1:

Another fantastic Get in a Gig session last night! 🚣🌊
We were thrilled to welcome another 8 new rowers out onto the water, bringing even more people into the world of pilot gig rowing.
From learning the basics on land to getting their first strokes in on the water, everyone showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.
It’s always brilliant to see confidence grow throughout the session—and we hope this is just the beginning of many rowing adventures to come!
A huge thank you to all of our volunteer coaches, coxes, and experienced club members who give up their time to make these sessions possible. We couldn’t do it without you. ❤️

Our ladies SV crew continued their fine 2026 form, finishing 5th overall 💪

A great event, and a good way to introduce people to our sport of gig rowing

One of the great regatta locations, and perfect weather for a bit of rowing combined with a day on the beach 😍. Results out of approx 24 boats:
