Today we said goodbye to Alan.
Alan lived a quiet life, choosing those he wished to gift of his time.
He adored his little sister and was always willing to lend a hand with her business whenever things became busy…. he was reliable and dependable.
Alan maintained a small circle of friends and treasured the time he spent with them, whether catching up over a coffee or enjoying conversations about their shared interests.
Above all, Alan held a strong bond with his younger cousin Linda. It was through Linda's love and dedication that we were able to come together today for a small, warm and heartfelt service held in Alan's honour.
Though Alan preferred a quiet life, he leaves behind memories of kindness and loyalty that will be remembered by those fortunate enough to have known him.

Today we said goodbye to Alan.
Alan was a devoted husband, dad and grandad.
Family was certainly at the centre of Alan’s world and nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved most.
Throughout his working life, Alan travelled extensively across the world. Boarding a plane was as routine to him as hopping on and off a bus. Distance never fazed him; instead, he embraced every opportunity to see new places, experience different cultures and explore the world around him.
In his later years, Alan turned his attention to landscaping his garden. He took immense pride in transforming the space, building walls and carefully planting shrubs, bushes and flowers.
Alan was an absolute character… he was someone who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. That personality shone through in the remarkable video tribute he created, celebrating a lifetime of treasured memories with his family, which we were privileged to watch during today's service.
Alan will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Today we said goodbye to John.
There was a tremendous turnout at East Lancashire Crematorium as family and friends gathered to pay their respects. John was honoured with a Guard of Honour, a fitting tribute to a man who was so loved and respected.
John was a devoted husband and a much-loved brother. He was also a devoted daddy to his many furry friends throughout the past 57 years. Pets were always an important part of the Lucas household bringing love, companionship and happiness to family life. His beloved dog Finley was his constant companion and misses his daddy dearly.
John had a passion for golf and gardening, two hobbies that brought him great enjoyment over the years. Many friends from Breightmet Golf Club attended today to honour his memory and celebrate the friendship they shared with him.
John was also well travelled…. Together with his beloved wife Pat, they explored many parts of the world including Hong Kong, Kenya, Bali and numerous other exotic destinations.
In more recent years, one of their greatest pleasures was visiting a small village in Scotland where they made many wonderful local friends and were able to take little Finley along with them to enjoy their adventures.
John will be deeply missed by his beloved wife. Pat’s heart and home will carry an immeasurable void without him.
Though his passing leaves profound sadness, the love, memories and happiness he shared with those around him will remain forever.

Today we said goodbye to Gwen.
We gathered in the beautiful chapel at Lower Ince for a small and intimate service, remembering and celebrating Gwen's life exactly as she had wished.
Today's service was less about speeches and more about quiet reflection, with meaningful poems and music helping us honour her memory.
Gwen was a much-loved mum, mother-in-law, grandma and friend. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished. 💝

Today we said goodbye to Tommy.
Tommy was a much-loved brother, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle. Family meant everything to him, especially after losing his father at the young age of just 15. The bonds he shared with those he loved were at the very heart of his life.
Tommy had a deep love of blues, jazz and soul music. He also took great pride in expressing himself through his writing and poetry. Today, we had the privilege of hearing one of Tommy’s poems, which won the inaugural Manchester Poetry Festival in 1994… A wonderful reminder of his creativity and talent.
Tommy was always consistent, kind and incredibly generous. In his later years, he volunteered at his local hospice charity shop. Being part of the community and giving something back brought him great fulfilment and truly fed his soul.
Today we said goodbye with heavy hearts, but also with hearts full of love and gratitude for all the memories Tommy leaves behind. His kindness, creativity and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Today we said goodbye to Neal.
Neal was a devoted family man who grew up alongside his five sisters sharing a close bond that remained important throughout his whole life.
He began his career serving in the Scotts Guards, a role that reflected his sense of duty, commitment and strength of character.
Later Neal married and became a devoted father to his two daughters. They each described their dad as selfless, unconditional in his love and great fun to be around. Neal was not one for grand displays of affection; instead, his love was often shown through the simple gestures that meant so much…. a reassuring pat on the head rather than a hug. Neal always showed a quiet but constant presence and willingness to put others before himself.
He found great enjoyment in DIY projects, gardening and sea fishing. He took pride in keeping busy, creating, fixing and caring for people he loved.
Above all, Neal will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his kindness, his gentle ways and the love he gave so freely. He will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Today we said goodbye to Paul.
When we think of blended families, we often think of the challenges and disruption they can sometimes bring, but there was none of that in Paul’s heart or home. He made sure there was always inclusion, love and unconditional support for everyone around him.
That kindness extended far beyond his family. The number of people who attended his service today showed just how deeply loved and valued Paul was…. in his family, among his friends and within his work community.
Paul was a devoted supporter of Liverpool F.C. Today the room was a sea of red football shirts, worn proudly in his honour.
As Paul begins his spiritual journey today, I’d like to think he has been lovingly reunited with his mum and his nan.
Rest peacefully Paul, may the love you gave so freely continue to live on in all those fortunate enough to have known you.

Today we said goodbye to Jack.
Jack was a devoted partner to Carol of 36+ wonderful years. Today Jack and Carol are lovingly reunited at heavens gate.
Jack leaves behind Carols devoted daughter Joanne and his three grandchildren.
Today’s service was filled with beautiful memories, shared stories, laughter and tears. A particularly touching reading was given by Jack’s carer, whose heartfelt words captured Jack so perfectly and reminded us all of the special person he was.
Jack… you will be deeply missed, fondly remembered and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.
