Wow what a night last night for the first fixture of the Preston summer snooker league. We opened up with 14 year old Jack Wilding knocking a 102 break, making him the youngest ever century break maker in league history. Then to top that 15 year old Jackson Pope hit a magnificent 140 total clearance in the last frame to knock in the fourth highest break ever in the league.
Unreal achievement, keep going lads, doing us proud.

Massive congratulations to Elite A on winning the Preston and District snooker league title last night. It completes an historic season for our A team with them winning the knockout cup as well to make it the first time we have ever won the double, Both league and cup in the same season. Future looks very bright for this team as well with 4 of our players with an average age of just over 18.

CHAMPIONS
Well done to our Elite A snooker team who won the 6 man knockout cup in the Preston and District snooker league last night at Brownedge, defeating Lonsdale in the final. Despite giving 200 points away on aggregate over the 6 frames they came storming out the blocks and never looked back. Anthony Wall won the first frame 100-12 and Chris Norbury took the second frame 113-14 to reduce the lead to just 13 points after the first two frames. Next up Aidan Gallagher won by 22 and Adrian Wilding won by 48 to give us a 57 point lead going into the last 2 frames. Then it was over to the kids to bring home the title and they did so with ease. 15 year old Jackson Pope won by 40 points and 14 year old Jack Wilding also won to bring the trophy back to Elite.
Well done everyone.

Not to be for Jackson last night in the last 16 of the European under 16 Championships. He had earlier won 3-2 in the last 32 before losing 3-0 in the early hours of this morning. Been a great experience though and will no doubt come back a better player.
Been a great few weeks for us at the club with a national finalist, national quarter finalist and now a last 16 European championship with all under 16. Keep going guys and back to the practice table.
Practice, practice, practice.

Great start for Jackson in the European under 16 Championships. Won all group games 2-0 and seeded number 2 for the knockout stages which start around 4.30 today. Play well Jackson and good luck!

Very best of luck to our own Jackson Pope. Who’s been selected for the England under 16’s squad for the European championships in Spain. His first match is in 15 minutes time. Good luck Jackson, play well.

He did it. Jack Wilding won the northern section of the English under 14’s snooker championship, winning in a tense deciding frame on the pink to book his place in the final, where he takes on the defending champ Adam Abbas at Landywood on April the 19th for the national title. He played brilliant allday and didn’t drop a frame until the final and also made the highest break of the day an 80 break. To sum this lad up he finished the final in Leeds at 6.30 and was back in Preston at 8.30 on the practice table until close. Practice practice practice.
Also a special mention for Jack Sutton in his first proper comp. 12 year old jack did brilliant to get to the quarters and through his group, before losing to Jack. Just a shame they drew each other, but his time will come and target is to win it next year.
Proud day for everyone at Elite.

One match off a national final. Come on Jack one last push. Final starting soon. Yet to drop a frame also, so he’s been very impressive!
