Reading Hockey Club is delighted to announce the signing of Ollie Lander, who joins the Men’s 1st XI for the 2026/27 season.
Ollie arrives at Sonning Lane from the University of Nottingham, where he has been part of the Men’s 1st XI. Nottingham is one of the strongest university hockey programmes in the country, competing at BUCS National Premier level and in the England Hockey League, and Ollie has spent the past three seasons developing in that environment against consistently high-quality opposition.
The Club’s Chairman, Tim Hunt, welcomed the signing: “Ollie is exactly the sort of player we want coming to Reading — young, ambitious, and arriving from a high-performance environment where he has been pushed every week. Players of his calibre choosing Sonning Lane says a lot about the direction this club is heading in, and we’re thrilled to have him.”
Head of Men’s Performance, Todd Williams, added: “Ollie has developed in a really competitive programme at Nottingham and he arrives well prepared to make a mark on the Premier Division. Reading Hockey Club is delighted to announce the signing of Dylan Parry, who joins the Men’s 1st XI for the 2026/27 season.
Dylan arrives at Sonning Lane having completed his time at the University of Exeter, where he was part of the Men’s 1st XI squad competing in the England Hockey Men’s Division One South. Dylan comes from one of the strongest university programmes in the country — an environment that pairs a demanding training week with senior national league hockey every weekend.
The move to Reading represents a step up to Premier Division hockey, but Dylan arrives with the technical quality, composure and defensive understanding to make that transition. He is exactly the kind of player the club is looking to bring in: well coached, ready to establish himself in a competitive senior environment, and with his best hockey still in front of him.
The club’s Chairman, Tim Hunt, welcomed the signing: “Dylan comes to us from an excellent programme at Exeter and this is a genuine step up for him — one we’re confident he’s ready for. We’ve been clear about wanting to build a squad that can compete now and keep improving, and players of Dylan’s profile are central to that. It’s pleasing that a player finishing university and weighing up his options has chosen Reading.”
Head of Men’s Performance, Todd Williams, added: “Dylan is a defender who reads the game well, is comfortable on the ball and distributes with great range and variety. Those are the qualities that travel when you move up a level. Premier Division hockey will ask more of him in terms of speed and decision-making, but he has the skills and the experience behind him to handle it. He’s hungry to push on now university is behind him, and I’m looking forward to working with him through pre-season.”
Dylan will link up with his new teammates during pre-season and the whole club looks forward to welcoming him to Sonning Lane.

Reading Hockey Club is delighted to announce the return of Archie Vaughan, who rejoins the Men’s 1st XI for the 2026/27 season.
Archie is no stranger to Sonning Lane, having come through at Reading before moving north ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. He spent last season with Beeston, where he wore the number 6 shirt and tested himself week in, week out against Premier Division opposition.
He returns to Reading a more experienced and more complete player for that time at the Nottingham Hockey Centre, and adds real quality to a Men’s 1st XI squad that continues to strengthen ahead of the new season.
The club’s Chairman, Tim Hunt, welcomed the news: “Archie is a Reading player through and through, and it’s genuinely pleasing to see him choose to come home. Players wanting to return says a great deal about the ethos of the Club and the direction we’re heading, and we’re delighted to have him back in sky blue.”
Head of Men’s Performance, Todd Williams, added: “Archie knows the club, knows the group and knows what’s expected. He returns a more experienced player, having proven himself in the Premier Division last year, and that experience will raise the standard around him. I’m looking forward to getting him into pre-season and building on what he’s learned.”
Archie will link up with his new teammates for pre-season and the whole club looks forward to welcoming him back to Sonning Lane.

He has proven himself at national league level, and he arrives with ambition that matches exactly what we’re building at Reading. It’s a real statement that players of his calibre are choosing Sonning Lane.”

Reading Hockey Club is delighted to announce the signing of Great Britain and England international Liv Hamilton, who joins the Women’s 1st XI for the 2026/27 season.
Hamilton arrives at Sonning Lane from Hampstead & Westminster. She made her senior England debut against Argentina in February 2022, having been selected into the Great Britain programme for the Paris 2024 cycle earlier that year. Liv has since represented England at the 4 Nations Women’s Invitational in Barcelona and at the EuroHockey Championships in Mönchengladbach.
At club level, Liv was part of the Hampstead & Westminster side that retained the EuroHockey Club Trophy in Vienna, adding European silverware to a season in which she was a regular in one of the strongest defensive units in the Women’s England Hockey League. She played her university hockey at Loughborough.
Reading Hockey Club Chair, Tim Hunt, welcomed the signing: “Liv is a signing that says a great deal about where this club wants to be and how we focus our energy on supporting talent at the very top of the game. A current Great Britain and England international choosing Reading is a real statement of intent for the season ahead, and it reflects the environment we have worked hard to build here. Liv’s experience at the very top of the international and European club game will raise the level around her every week. We’re thrilled to welcome her to Sonning Lane.”
Walid Abdo, Head of Women’s Performance, added: “Liv brings international quality and a defensive presence that any coach would want at the back. She has been tested at the highest level — senior international hockey and European club competition — and that calibre of player lifts everyone in the group. She is exactly the kind of addition that will help us compete at the top end of the league in 2026/27.”
Liv will link up with her new teammates for pre-season training this summer and the whole club looks forward to welcoming her to Sonning Lane.
