At 61 years old, vegan bodybuilder Joe DeMarco is rewriting what aging looks like. He just set a new Guinness World Record by completing 602 toes to bar repetitions in one hour, beating the previous record of 466.
The movement, popular in gymnastics and CrossFit, demands serious core strength and control, proving this was not just endurance but elite athletic ability.
This is not his first record. In 2022, DeMarco set two world records in a single day for pushups, completing over 21,000 in 12 hours. A former gymnast and long time bodybuilder, he returned to competition after turning 60, showing that performance does not have an age limit.
DeMarco says his secret is consistency, simple training, and a plant-based diet. Vegan since 2017, he focuses on whole foods like beans, rice, vegetables, and meal prep to stay on track. He avoids processed foods and keeps his routine disciplined and simple.
Today he also shares workouts and nutrition advice through his YouTube channel OcraMed Health, inspiring others to train for longevity, not just aesthetics.

The 4-2-1 workout method—four strength days, two cardio sessions, and one mobility day—is gaining popularity for balancing muscle building, cardiovascular health, and recovery.
This split works well for busy professionals and intermediate lifters who want structure without complicated programming.
Science shows combining strength and aerobic training produces better body composition improvements than either alone, plus it's adaptable to your lifestyle.

They swabbed their mouths before. They swabbed their mouths after. And the science was impossible to argue with.
Washington State University researchers conducted a randomized controlled trial with 249 college students divided into four groups. The first group petted cats and dogs for 10 minutes. The second group watched others pet the animals while waiting in line. The third group watched a slideshow of the same animals. The fourth group waited quietly for 10 minutes with no phone, no reading material and no stimulation whatsoever. Saliva samples were collected from all four groups throughout the day.
Once all the data was crunched, the students who interacted directly with the pets showed significantly less cortisol in their saliva after the interaction. Not the students who watched. Not the students who looked at photos. Only the students who actually touched the animals. Lead researcher Patricia Pendry said: "The reduction of stress hormones may, over time, have significant benefits for physical and mental health." Ten minutes. Measurable. Biological. Real. Your cat has been running a stress clinic in your living room this whole time and charging you absolutely nothing for it.

A 12-week open-label pilot study evaluated whether omega-3 fatty acids combined with Korean red ginseng could improve symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The study included 40 children aged 6–12 years diagnosed with ADHD. Participants received a daily supplement containing 500 mg of omega-3 fatty acids (294 mg EPA and 206 mg DHA) and 3 mg of Korean red ginseng extract. During the study period, no psychotropic medications were allowed. ADHD symptoms were assessed using the ADHD Rating Scale (ADHD-RS) and Clinical Global Impression-Severity (CGI-S) scale, along with neuropsychological tests measuring attention, memory, and executive function.
After 12 weeks of supplementation, children showed a significant reduction in ADHD symptoms, with ADHD-RS scores decreasing from 31.12 at baseline to 24.15, and CGI-S scores decreasing from 3.38 to 2.94. Improvements were also observed in several cognitive functions. Tests showed reduced attention errors, improved short-term and delayed memory, and better executive function performance. The supplement combination was well tolerated, with only one participant reporting a temporary headache. The researchers concluded that omega-3 combined with Korean red ginseng may help improve ADHD symptoms and cognitive function, although larger randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.
