CrossFit Gym in Old Sarum, Salisbury, UK Sarum CrossFit is a Strength & Conditioning Facility. We believe in training you for anything life can throw at you.

We Train Functional Movements combined of Weightlifting, Gymnastics, kettlebells and much more wrapped up nicely into a friendly class format, where a trainer is there at all times guiding you through each session. You are never left by yourself! Everyday is different, each session can be tailored to any individual. Whilst achieving all your goals you're make some great friends on the way. We are not just a gym but a community.

We’re excited to welcome Sophie Dewis to our coaching team!

While Sophie will already be a familiar face to many of you, we’re delighted to have her joining the coaching team. Sophie has been part of our community for the past 7 years and brings with her more than 12 years of CrossFit experience.

You’ll find her coaching most Tuesday evenings, along with selected daytime and weekend classes, while continuing to be an active member of our regular class programme.

We’ve asked Sophie a few quick-fire questions so you can get to know her a little better. Check them out below and make sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her around the gym! 💪

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

I’m a fiery Sagittarius, so I’m naturally optimistic. I love movement, spending time in nature, connecting with people, and embracing new adventures.

2. How did you first get into CrossFit?

I was working in a gym and wanted a style of training that was more challenging and rewarding. My brother introduced me to CrossFit, I gave it a try, and I’ve never looked back.

3. What inspired you to become a coach?

I’m passionate about helping people feel strong and empowered in both body and mind. I love the way CrossFit builds confidence, resilience, and community, and I wanted to be part of that journey for others.

4. What is your favourite CrossFit workout or movement?

Wall balls!

5. What is your least favourite CrossFit workout or movement?

Honestly, I don’t have one. Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, grow, and surprise yourself.

6. What’s one thing people might be surprised to learn about you?

I trained in classical ballet for 16 years.

7. What do you enjoy doing when you’re not in the gym?

Walking my dog, spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, and finding great coffee.

8. What can members expect when they come to one of your classes?

Coaching that helps you move better, plenty of support and encouragement, and good music!

Every year we do Murph for a reason bigger than ourselves.

This workout is about honoring Lieutenant Michael Murphy and all the men and women who gave their lives serving others. It’s not just another hard WOD on the board. It’s a chance for us to push ourselves physically and mentally while remembering people who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Murph is supposed to be uncomfortable. The miles get long, the pull-ups hurt our hands, the push-ups slow down, and your legs get heavy during those squats. But that discomfort is the point. For one hour, we choose hardship together, with purpose.

Murph isn’t about your time on the leaderboard. Nobody cares if you finish Rx, partition the reps, wear a vest, or scale the workout. What matters is showing up, giving effort, supporting each other, and embracing the meaning behind it.

Today we sweat together, suffer together, and honor together.

That’s why we do Murph.
