EDGEHILL U16 7-3 Yorkshire coast U16

What a start to the season for our Edgehill Juniors U16s, securing a fantastic 7–3 victory over Yorkshire Coast in Division One! 🔥

After making the incredible journey from Division Four to Division One in just three years, the boys have shown that they belong at this level.

Edgehill started brilliantly, taking a 1–0 lead, but went into half-time 3–2 behind. What followed was a devastating second-half performance, with the boys hitting five goals and creating plenty more chances. 💪⚽️

🌟 Great performances from Olly Cooper, Logan Sutton and Noah Salt, who was deservedly named Player of the Match.

A special mention to Francis, playing his first game for the team and getting himself two goals! He has been in fantastic form throughout pre-season and carried that form straight into the new season. 👏

A brilliant start for the Edgehill Juniors U16s and a huge statement after stepping up to Division One.

Also a massive thank you to View Restaurant for sponsoring the Home team kit and helping make sure they look so smart this season. 👏

Finally, we would like to wish Ellis from Yorkshire Coast a safe and speedy recovery after unfortunately breaking his tibia in a challenge during the game. Everyone at Edgehill Juniors wishes you all the very best with your recovery, Ellis. ⚽️

Brilliant to see our youngest and newest team take to the pitch.

Our Edgehill Under 7s have been created for the brand new 3v3 format, and it was fantastic to see them all out there enjoying their football. ⚽️🙌

A lot of these young players have come through our Wednesday night Development Centre, so it’s brilliant to now see them taking the next step and beginning their own grassroots football journey. 🧡

There is so much potential within this group, but most importantly, we want them to enjoy their football, make friends, learn, develop and create memories along the way. ⚽️

The team is being led by Edgehill players Joel Ramm and Dan Jones, who will help guide the youngsters as they begin what we hope will be a fantastic journey with Edgehill Juniors FC. 👏

Another fantastic performance from the Edgehill U11s today! 👏🧡🖤

Some quality football played once again from the team, with plenty of brilliant passing, movement and teamwork on show throughout the game.

A special mention to our new signing, Matilda, who was absolutely brilliant on her first outing for Edgehill! 👏⚽️ She settled in fantastically and put in a brilliant performance.

It was a top team performance from everyone, with lots of great football and plenty of positives to take forward.

⚽ Pre-Season Friendly Result ⚽

Edgehill Juniors travelled to Brid Town Rovers for their first pre-season friendly of the season.

Edgehill made the perfect start, with Sammie firing us into a 1-0 lead after just a few minutes. Both teams competed well throughout on a difficult, dry pitch, with Edgehill taking the lead into half-time.

Brid Town Rovers responded strongly late on, scoring twice in the final five minutes to go 2-1 ahead. However, Edgehill showed great character and were rewarded with a late penalty after some excellent build-up play involving Jordan, Riley and Noah. Noah S stepped up confidently to convert from the spot and secure a deserved 2-2 draw.

A good, competitive game and a positive way to get the team started for the new season.

👏 Special mentions to Will and Charlie for solid performances at the back, Riley for competing brilliantly in midfield, and Noah, who was a threat up front.

⚽ Tomorrow we face Hawkes U15s in what should be another competitive pre-season test. 🧡🖤

Today we are celebrating one of our fantastic coaches, who is now in his 5th year coaching our current Under 12s. As a grassroots coach, Ferg gives up so much of his free time to help young players develop, and his commitment, and dedication never go unnoticed.

As well as coaching the U12s, Ferg also plays for Edgehill FC Men’s Team and is a huge part of JP Football Coaching, helping deliver our evening sessions and holiday camps.
