β˜€οΈ As we head into the summer holidays, we'd like to take a moment to thank all our pupils, families, staff and wider community for your continued support throughout another fantastic year at Forge Valley School.

What a year it has been! We've celebrated countless achievements both inside and outside the classroom, with pupils excelling locally, nationally and even internationally in activities including dance, cricket, ice hockey and football.

The final week perfectly captured the spirit of our school, with memorable events including our annual school trek, Sports Day and Forge Fest 2026. This year also saw the introduction of reward trips to Bridlington and Matlock Bath, creating even more opportunities for pupils to make lasting memories.

We're incredibly proud that Forge Valley continues to grow, with over 270 students joining Year 7 and increasing numbers choosing our Sixth Form. Over the summer, we'll be investing further in our school environment, including the redevelopment of our Sports Hall changing facilities, ensuring even better experiences for students when they return in September.

Beyond the classroom, our school community has continued to make a difference. Together, we've raised thousands of pounds for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, supported brilliant fundraising efforts for our Costa Rica 2027 expedition, and seen our Duke of Edinburgh programme go from strength to strength.

Thank you once again for being part of our incredible school community. We wish all our families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in September for another exciting year ahead.

πŸ’™ Have a wonderful summer, Forge Valley! 🌞

πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ Our final day in Cantabria was another fantastic (and very long!) one! πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ

The morning was spent exploring the local zoo, where we saw an incredible range of animals. Some of the pupils’ favourites included the majestic white tigers, playful orangutans, elegant flamingos and, surprisingly, the guinea pigs! πŸ…πŸ¦§πŸ¦©πŸΉ

We enjoyed a well-earned pit stop at the zoo cafΓ©, where Miss B and Mr C hosted their end-of-trip quiz – a big hit with everyone! πŸ“πŸŽ‰

After walking back into town para comer (for lunch), pupils had one final chance to pick up some souvenirs before the journey home. Judging by the amount of regalitos purchased, a few suitcases may have doubled in weight! πŸŽπŸ›οΈπŸ˜„

Once again, the children were absolutely brilliant on the long return journey. After arriving back at FV at 3am, we were all more than ready for our own camas (beds)! πŸšŒπŸ’€

A huge well done to all of the pupils for being such wonderful ambassadors throughout the trip – what a fantastic Cantabria adventure! πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έβœ¨

🌍 Last week, some of our talented Year 7 linguists travelled to Sheffield High School to take part in a translation competition alongside students from other schools.

As well as competing, they enjoyed a range of language and cultural activities, including pΓ©tanque, Blooket competitions and trilingual bingo! πŸ‡«πŸ‡· πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡Έ πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺ

A huge well done to everyone who represented the school so brilliantly, and a special congratulations to Sophie, who was awarded Best Spanish Linguist!

Day 4 Spain

Another fantastic day for the Cantabria Crew. Today we visited the stunning Soplao Caves and enjoyed more spectacular views of the mountains.

On our return to the hotel the children were shown how to prepare a typical paella by Amelia, the chef, and we had an impromptu Spanish lesson - please ask your children the key ingredients and steps to make the dish... in Spanish. After eating the paella, we spent time in our little town Santillana del Mar, which is historic and picturesque.

Finally the children finished the day with their favourite thing, playing together outside the hotel, playing football, frisbee, sticky ball and Dungeons and Dragons, making up dances and all mixing together.
