I am sharing this daily video using a tarot card for each day to help give a focus for self-improvement. Tarot cards were used by Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Jung, who did a lot of work around the various levels of the mind, and how symbols and archetypes can relate to people on a much deeper level, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. All for the purpose of finding peace and healing. Jung also researched and was the person who coined the term 'synchronicity' whereas two seemingly =random events come together to create deeper meaning for someone, and a deeper connection to themselves and their surrounding universe.
Anyway, sorry for the delay on this, IT issues! but here it is, besides, the day is not over yet! Enjoy!

Do you ever feel chest pain whilst experiencing stress?
Well if you do, then it might not be due to severe heart-related health issues, but a symptom of anxiety!
Anxiety and stress can manifest in your chest to give a sensation that something is severely wrong with your heart health, when in fact, it can be explained through the body's reaction to stress.
These can include -
1 digestive issues due to bloating or indigestion can cause a tightness in the chest, as a direct result of stress. The heartburn and gas in the chest can feel uncomfortable and cause concern. This is linked to stomach acid rather than chest tightness of cardiac problems
2 hyperventilation due to rapid breathing through stress/anxiety can cause a feeling of tight chest, but is actually due to the pressure caused by shallow breathing in the chest, rather than deeper belly breathing. This type of breathing can cause an imbalance between carbon dioxide and oxygen in the blood and therefore induce a light-headedness at the same time. The worry of something being seriously wrong can create a cycle of panic, which can escalate. The symptoms of this can be easily explained with stress response rather than anything sinister
3 chest wall or muscle strain can be aggravated by stress and feel like a tight chest sensation, and then cause someone to worry about worse case scenario. Muscle strain or irritation of the chest wall is very treatable and often improved through proper rest and recovery

In the heat of the moment it can be hard to discern what is actually going on and fear for the worst, but the above issues are some examples of how sensations related to stress can cause someone to panic.

Either way, if you are in any doubt about your health, or if you need more reassurance, then contact your GP for proper examinations, to rule out any underlying health conditions.

If you experience tight chest symptoms related to anxiety/stress, then a simple breathing technique like 'Box Breathing',, can help reduce the tension caused

Here is some recent feedback from one of my clients I have been working with. It is not always possible to get feedback due to the nature of this type of work, but it is great when you do, and to know that you have been supporting something so valuable and life changing for somebody.

Counselling is not only for big problems, but for ANY problems, regardless whether you see them as big or small. If it is negatively affecting your life on any level, then it is big enough to seek help so it doesn't stop you doing what you want to do!

Stress, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, loss, bereavement, work place stress, is what I help people with in my work. Call or PM for more info and a 15 minute free call/video call if you are considering professional counselling

Resilience Counselling has been running since 2020 and has helped over 500 clients deal with mental health issues, lockdown concerns, big life changes or decisions, personality disorders, depression, stress, anxiety and bereavement of all different situations.

I have noticed a pattern in the types of problems that affect people and how to work with them to help them get to a better place.

I am currently working on training courses that will help people understand themsleves and the potential issues affecting them, plus ways to move past them.

If you could choose one thing to solve in your life at the moment, that is causing stress, or making you feel bad, what would it be? What type of course would be most helpful for you?

What has this tiger got to do with you?

Well, everyone has got a voice and sometimes that voice isn't heard. When your voice is not heard, or if you talk to people and they are not really listening to what you are saying, then it can make you feel like crap, or worse, knock your confidence. This is especially true if you are trying to reach out to others when you're in a dark place.

Truth is, whether you believe it or not, there is a valuable and strong person within everyone that can come out with the ferocity of a tiger! That doesn't mean attacking other people or being threatening, like a tiger right in someone's face. But tigers have presence and confidence in themselves, they are simply what they are, no holding back!

If you are going through some stuff in life, or you are not feeling heard, or even confident in a situation, then accessing counselling can be a great step to getting things sorted, and create a happier you! Dont be afraid to find your voice

WHO REALLY GETS ANXIOUS OR DEPRESSED?
When we hear the words anxiety or depression, it can be easy to think this only happens to other people who are struggling, or those who have been diagnosed by a GP. The truth is that everyone experiences anxiety or depression at some point in their life, because it is a natural part of our human emotions. (e.g. we are not always happy, we are not always sad, but a mixture of many varied emotions in daily life)

Anxiety or depression only becomes a problem if it prevents someone from doing things they want to do, or they feel undervalued or incapable of dealing with a problem in life themselves. It also is a problem if anxiety or depression carries on after a situation that caused it has stopped or changed.

I'm sharing this because this is something I have experienced personally, as well as seen it play out in many people, young or old, and from all walks of life long before I became a counsellor, as well as during many hours of working with people going through this in counselling. The trick is to understand how it works in our body (nervous system), mind and emotions, as well as what is the underlying cause of it (it surprises some people where it comes from!)

When you no longer feel in the dark about anxiety or depression, it makes it feel more manageable, and then the realisation of your inner strength can begin. After that point, there can be no stopping you!

If anxiety or depression are things affecting your life, and you have some questions on how counselling or building more resilience can help give your life back, then FB message, contact or call on 0800 999 1874 (landline) 07873 763 443 (mobile) or email on [email protected]. Everything is confidential, (even enquiries!)
